Default Fort Meade Install at Auto Skills Thread

Hello Peoples of NASIOC,

I'm started this thread to help people get toghter for installs done at the Forte Meade Auto Skills.

If you're not Military ID cardholder, sorry it'll be difficult(impossible) for you to have access to the lifts and everything at the Auto Skills place.

For the Military peoples post up when and what install you're doing. That way you can see if someone is available to come out and help or swing by, hang out, count your curse words as you work through your install.

Info Needed:
date
time of arrival
type of car (year/body style)
type of parts
help needed (yes/no)
contact info, if needed, should be sent in PM. don't wanna see you guys getting text spam.

Default bug eye struts install

Saturday, 20 July, I'm swapping my stock struts for something a little mo-better. I'll be out there first thing, they open at 9am. Hopefully I can get there early enough to get my favorite lift.

I don't NEED help but come out, chill, and laugh at me whilst I drop nuts and bolts.

Can I use a contractor CAC? If so, I'd be down to shoot up there sometime next weekend

From their website:

http://ftmeademwr.com/auto.php

Eligibility: Active duty, DoD civilians, retired and reservist personnel and their family members.

DoD civilians normally means GS positions, I'm not sure what they'd say about contractors.
You can give them a ring and find out for sure. (301)677-5542

Just to come and hang out I think you'd be ok but to work on your car I know you have to be one of the above and go through the safety class that's held hourly (I think). I asked them if I could bring a buddy's car in and work on it, they said no. The car's owner has to be one of the above and have the safety class and all that too.

mynavi, come out then. your 2013 will be slightly different but you might be able to get a pointer or a shortcut out of my shenanigans.

I thought this up because when I was swapping my diff out a guy with an evo came over and checked out what I was doing, a guy with a 04? beautifully black WRX came in, a dude with an STI... I just thought it was cool to shoot the bull for a minute while taking a minute or so break from wrenching. It's even nicer to see what others are doing and see if it looks worthwhile.

close call today at work ladies and gents... ALMOST had to come in on Sat.

If I have time after the struts I'm doing front/rear shifter bushings.

Anybody wanna help install an SPT H-brace on a 2011 WRX? I'm sure I can do it myself (4 bolts altogether) but having a second eye and pair of hands would come in handy. Thinking about doing it this Thursday at 1300.

Does it have space for an aftermarket pipe?

Oh...dang it. I don't know if it will but I'll try my darnest to make it work. Otherwise, it'll be sold soon on NASIOC.

Update...the H-brace install was a success. No clearance issues with the downpipe.

yes I do. Sometimes it feels like the bay fees are rent.

I work near the small shoppette over by DINFOS. There is another bugeye that parks over here but its a silver wagon with an auto trans, bone stock.

Is there a subie community on Meade or just a bunch of strangers running around waving at each other? I wave at several everyday and was just wondering if they ever all get together?
