97 sti type r GC8

Default is a 05 sti engine and drivetrain compatible with a gc8 chassis

looking on buying a full 05 sti engine and drivetrain and having it put into my 97 gc8 2 door chassis. has anyone done it or knows of anyone who has, and is it possible with minimal to moderate modifications to the chassis as it is now?

thanks in advance.

Hmmmm. Interesting idea. I don't think anyone has tried that before.

If it was a wagon you could probably just open the hatch fold the seats and fit everything in, no mods what so ever. The car may sag though, but thatís what the aftermarket is for stiffer rear springs and you would be set .
