Many narrow roads and you don't know who may be coming the other way, trucks (area is full of natural gas they ship out that goes kaboom!), cops, rallycars and people amped up from watching rallycars and a nutcase on a drift trike.

Also, doing opening last year braked for 1 bear, many deer, 1 wild turkey and hawk carrying snake almost came thru windsheild.

Be safe everyone. BYODT -Bring your own drift trike.

Any word on the drifters coming out for the hillclimb? That would be awesome indeed.

The drifting sort of fizzled when the US Drift championship moved a date to conflict w/ the hillclimb so many drifters are now going to NJ instead. Mr $500 WRC car Caswell was in charge of inviting them initially. Said he was talking to Vaughn Gitten Jr and others too-Pro for US Drift but thinking these guys would still go to the drift event instead.

A little FYI for the DC rallyXers, congradulate Gorka for winning his first tandem drift event this summer next time you see him. Doing great sideways.

Its not too late to get your own drift trikes!

The Lancia WRC car may or may not be there. Driver briefly deployed w/ no intel when the mission may be completed but will be cutting it close. If he is back home, he'll be there. And another Integrale rallycar is due to arrive in VA Beach near that time so was thinking how to bring both.

Note to anyone going as servicecrew. Bring sunscreen and shady hat. 4000ft is not all that high but does make a small difference in sun intensity combined w/ reflective radiation from being on black parkinglot adds up. And bring for friends who may not read this.

volunteers too. temps friday night lower 50's and high of 68 on saturday, so bring a jacket. 4% for each 1000 ft. skiing in the rockies can do some damage.

Great time last weekend. Thanks to Team Gotti for putting me up in exchange for work on the car, a real shame what happened on the last transit stage. I know I talked to a NASIOC'r at the Exxon about HAM and radios and the like while I topped off one of our support vehicles and the extra gas jugs for the car. Thank you to all volunteers who helped make this race go off with a single hitch. In fact, they ran one stage 10 minutes early because all the cars were waiting in line. An awesome job!

Freakin' beautiful roads, awesome scenery, and an even better set of people. I may check out Snowshoe during the winter just once, and if I'm not crewing next year and have my HAM, I'll definitely lend a hand that way.

Some aerial footage from the drone crew that was hanging around:

Thank you to all the volunteers from car #56! It's always awesome to see familiar faces out there.

Transmission broke on the way to the last stage, but the car was perfect all weekend other than that. Whatevs!

Sorry to hear about the transmission. We almost drove by thinking like everyone else apparently that you guys stopped to change a tire or take a leak. The look on your faces told us otherwise, something was up. I tried to call when we got to the start of the last stage but still didn't have signal. We were able to let AJ know once we finished. I hope you guys weren't out there for too long.

Thanks again to all the volunteers that made it possible. Rally WV has to be in the conversation for best in the US.

Thanks for the video Rippen Griffen!
The spectator spot on Middle Road was the place to be and we took that corner like a boss! It was a 90 left in to a hairpin left... Hope someone posts a video of us there (we only ran it the last time)
I know there was a burgundy Legacy there as they let us pass by on the transit. Hoping they might have a video...
