I've been changing my own oil since day one with this car and I've been using Castrol Edge Titanium with whatever filter is included in the package when I buy it over at Advance Auto Parts. I am at 44,600 miles and my car has yet to consume any oil or have any issues. The Castrol oil changes go for about $32-35 for 5 quarts and the filter(usually FRAM Ultra, Bosch Distance Plus, or K&N) but I recently also picked up 10 quarts of Valvoline Synpower with two FRAM Ultra filters for $54.

I should also note that I recently noticed that the K&N filters that are coming on to the shelves are made in Korea instead of the USA. I don't know of anyone who has opened one up yet to see the difference but I am always wary when a company outsources their products to increase profits. You can tell the difference because Korean version is slightly smaller and the open end has a clear plastic cover on it.
