I guess "slam it" is the fad in Ballin Park and Cali.

I like it the way it is, nice combo

I am planning on getting some Focal 424 Notch 17x7.5 +42mm wheels for my Sport Premium, and I wanted to see what you guys thought about a couple things:

Brand - Are focal wheels good? Decent? Crap? I know they've been around for a little while, and are made by Ultra Wheel, but are they prone to issues?

Offset - This offset will push my wheels outward 12mm it looks like (coming from 17x7 +48mm) so, will that cause any rubbing issues? I will not roll the fenders, so I hope that extra 1/2" isn't an issue...

OEM tire swap - I plan to swap the OEM tires on (for now, they only have 12k on them, so they stay until I need to replace them) so will I run into issues with the extra 1/2" width on the rim? Doesn't seem like a big amount, but I wanted to be sure.

Lug nuts - Will the OEM locking lugs work, or will I need to get some new ones?

Anyone have pics of a 17x7.5 +42mm setup so I can see what it might look like?

Thanks!

yes oem lug nuts will work

no i am running a 235/40/18 on a 9.5in wheel and have used 205/40/16s before on a 9.5 inch wheel an extra half inch wouldnt make that big of a difference

you will have no rubbing issues at stock height

I like those STi wheels - goes well with the white paint IMO. Got me thinking about finding a set of those locally... eventually.

Thanks, that is the way that I am leaning too. I think that I am going to run the V7s in the summer, the stock wheels in the winter with snow tires and sell the Rotas. My wife has been on me to get down to two sets of wheels.

Good luck finding a set of V7s, as they are becoming pretty rare. Mine actually came off of a crate car that a friend of mine had imported from Japan a few years back, so it was a case of being at the right place at the right time.

Yea those goldies are pretty rare. Usually sell for a pretty penny considering theyre not too flashy with those specs.

Monkeyracer - You shouldn't have a problem with quality, that brand is pretty popular and sold by tirerack which is the definition of legitimacy in the tuner wheels market, as far as Im concerned.

Try to find them on tirebuyer.com they may be cheaper. Then, call discounttiredirect.com and they will beat the shipped price of either of the other companies.
