Whats going onnn!!!! Im trying to get a cruise/meet going! If you live around here speak up! Haha.. I searched and I can see where things have been attempted around here before such as meets and cruises. Lets make it happen. Feel free to PM me or whatever, lets see who's down and then we will get stuff set in stone for a certain time/date.

hell yeah! Idk if it has been done before, but there is a cruise I have been thinking about a lot the past couple months. I used to ride this route on my old gixxer but.. you start out down here in Alamogordo and head up to Cloudcroft then take the mountain/scenic route all the way up to Ruidoso..grab some grub and chill.. then head back down the mountain to Alamogordo.

The route is absolutely amazing... plenty of twisties and what not.. but I'm sure those of us who have wives/girlfriends would appreciate the scenery haha

?

Alamogordo is a smaller city located at the base of some small mountains in New Mexico. I do not know the history of this town as I am only stationed here for the Air Force.. So.. I am unable to answer this question...

Most of the Alamo guys post in the EP section, since we are so close. I know I always go to EP because Abel keeps me posted on whats going on.

Was in Alamo this past Jan visting the 'rents' and was coming back from Ruidoso when i heard the burble. Looked over and saw a white GR truning into your little "mall".

On a side note, heading back up to NM this weekend to do a little boarding in Taos!

Thread resurrection!!!

OK so who all is in the Alamogordo/Holloman AFB area? I've been gone for four months and before I left there were subys all over. I'll be back in a couple of weeks and I can't wait to get behind the wheel again.

I know there are a bunch of Suby's/Evo's around town and I'd like to get the AWD community together. The shop I work in is full of a bunch of gear heads that have a mix of sweet rides and we are always looking for new peeps to hang out with. (09 G8 GT supercharged/cammed/meth--Fn quick runs low 11's in EP, '12 Mazdaspeed3--Stg 2/meth, '10 Evo X--stock, '09 Evo X--under construction but not for long hopefully)

Little about me:

I'm in the Air Force and I'm a ground equipment mechanic. Married with two crumb snatchers. Originally from Phx, so not too far from home. I drive a 04 WRB STi. I also have a 69 chevelle project car in Phx I've been trying to finish for what seems like forever. I'll probably haul it down some time after I get back. I like working on all types of cars, as do the guys in my shop, so install days are a blast.

Alright, sorry for the novel, but I just want to get the word out. If you guys know of another site that a community is already started in Alamo post it up. I don't have Facebook, so I wouldn't know if there is already something on there.

Hey, I'm over in Truth or Consequences. I think I'm the only WRX owner this side of the mountains. Only other Subarus around are cranky old people in their foresters....

That sucks about the the cranky old folk. You ever go up to Elephant Butte? I've been in Alamogordo for about three years and people have said it's a descent place to get away to. I'm debating on going up there when I get back.

I went on a motorcycle ride yesterday up around the dam for Elephant Butte. There's so little water in the reservoir it is crazy. I wouldn't call it a get away location right now. I should have taken pictures.

You know, Colorado is a great place too... Plenty of windy roads, mountains, cool air, and turbo benefiting altitudes.

Dude! I take exception to the "cranky old people" comment
...I drive an STi I didn't drive it to work today because of the rain and my dirt road got hammered down by Arrey.

Edit: There's also a young kid with an WRB '02 bugeye that lives out at the lake. Boost Inc. in Albuquerque just dropped in a 2.5 motor in it and Cameron (camtuning) tuned it for him. I don't think he is done with break in yet.

Good to hear there's not just cranky Subaru people! I know the dirt road dilema well. My Subaru had been down for a few weeks as I waited for tie rods to arrive. I had to ride my sportbike to town. We have two miles of creek bottom dirt before any pavement.

I also have a Shadow Aero 750. It's about time for a ride once I get my "driveway" bladed.
