Default vag com cable 06sti

I just got a vagcom cable and am looking for some help of how to flash my 06sti. I've heard some
People say u can't some say you can . Im just looking for some help and if anyone knows of a stage 2 speed density tune or just a stage 2 that I could upload to start with could use the help to make it easier

Vagcom works once in a blue moon.. I'd know.

Have you had it work on a 2006 sti I'm trying to flash I can log fine just can't flash maybe something him doing or using isn't right ?

Check where you have ecuflash looking for definitions, rommetadata or whatever file.

Supposedly 64bit operating systems wont work. I use a Windows XP machine.
I use a $10 Vag-COM cable to tune my 07 WRX.

You have left ALOT of questions unanswered with info that you did not post.

I use a vagcom cable to tune an 06 WRX. The biggest problem I had was getting an older version of EcuFlash so it would work with the cable. The newer versions do a check to see if you are using their cable, and won't work with vag-com.

Do a google search, the information is out there.

its not really that big of a problem...

One important change in the newer versions of our software is that we spent a lot of time to write our own device driver since the older versions of EcuFlash use a Microsoft driver that infrequently but occasionally resulted in Windows blue screens. Since we switched to using our device driver we haven't had a single blue screen. Something to consider when evaluating which cable you want to use.
