Default Legacy Tranny Swap Questions

I want to get rid of my auto in my Legacy and was wondering what all was involved in switching over? For example. is there already a cutout for the clutch pedal or would I have to create one? Is the ECU specific to the auto tranny, etc? Thanks for the help.
