I use my Mac to log with but that is just because I don't have a PC. RomRaider doesn't work with Mac and that's what I'm using to log with so I run Windows 7 through Bootcamp on my computer. Macs are overpriced if all you want to do is log and tune with it. I'd say get a netbook. The local guy helping me look into my car uses one and I've seen a few other guys mention them on here. You don't need anything with serious processing power to handle tuning.

I personally have used both Mac's and PC's I'd have to say Mac's are better for multimedia and design but from my experience your shooting your self in the foot when it comes to the amount of software for them, most of the software out there is for PC and if its made for mac its generally made for PC but the other way around isn't always the case.

But on a mac you can always have a tech setup Dual booting on your computer and that way you'll have the mac system and PC system on one computer and then you'll have the best of both worlds, but Mac's cost you your an arm and 2 legs, and a pc with the same power that would only cost you your arm. You'd be safe going either way it but it really depends how much you want to spend. if it was me and i had the money to get a mac, i'd get a decent pc and then get a megasquirt system for my car.

Yeah id love to spent less money on the laptop and spend more on the car but its money i was given for collage when my great grandfather died and i figure ill need a laptop regardless so i figured id get one that does everything that i want. But if i have a mac and run windows on parallel on it will all tuning software work? Or will it run different or quirky?

Nothing quirky using bootcamp but I'm not sure about Parallels or another virtual machine.
