Perhaps, but I am using generally accepted social definition of mid-life crisis - corvette, younger women, omgwhatdididotomylife. Perhaps that's incorrect, but your initial post and the phrase "Good Luck" indicated to me that was your implication.

The grass is not always greener on the other side.

I had similar feels with a girl in college that I still talk to and see regularly, and just through coincidence, we now live about 5 miles apart. Heck, I've spent the last 4 Christmases with her and her fiancée. I am pretty well convinced that if anything more had happened between us in college, it is very likely that we would not be talking to each other at this point.

Sometimes getting friendzoned isn't the worst thing that can happen.

I woke up this morning w/ the song "Life Sentence" - Dead Kennedys, stuck in my head... haven't listened to that song in a long while.

Adults w/ jobs shouldn't listen to punk, gets depressing. "You don't do what you want but you do the same thing everyday."

I get what you are saying, and I did not mean it that way. Not like "Hey Kirk just buy a ****ing Corvette and get it over with man" at all.

The mid-life crisis has been a plot device in so many comedies I think that's what people first think of when you mention it- something you laugh at, like an old man with a bad toupee and a Corvette.

I would give almost anything to have your life. And theres people here that would say the same to me. The trick is realizing how good you have it.

As soon as you figure how to do that, please let me know. I think living in our own skins limits our perspective and im struggling, just like you and probably most of us.

Dave is right. People handle their mid-life crisis differently but he has all the makings of it. It is really just getting to a crossroads in your life where you are wondering if you have done the right things in the past and if you are currently doing the right things for the future. Many people get depressed and then go buy a Corvette, bang hookers, and do a lot of blow. Those are just side-effects of the issue though for some.

It's most likely not a "mid-life crisis" and more likely real set of choices and decisions that need to be addressed. Are these a result of previous choices and decisions? Yes. But that doesn't mean they should get dismissed as something so trite as the notion of a mid-life crisis.
Two thumbs up, and a couple big toes, and...........hang on.......ok, one more thing "up" too ;-)

Seriously, very nice comment, Sharkie.

It is always most painful to have someone in your heart, but not in your arms.

A moment presents tough decisions and you, inevitably, make a choice. It is presumed that all choices are made after proper vetting. Sticking with that choice is a sign of good character. There is nothing wrong with reevaluating choices, but the lamentation should be quick -- there are other tough decisions to make.

I've learned that most people do not perform proper due diligence before investing in a tough decision. It's a shame. While you have to learn when and how to cut your losses, you shouldn't make a habit of poor decisions.
