Again, to refer to my basketball analogy: if I were to say the NBA is filled with drug dealers, no one would think I was talking about the white, Latino, and/or Asian players in the league. That's simply because majority of the players in the NBA are black. So if 79letour would have said, "I hate drug dealers", with no reference to a specific item like a Cadillac Escalade on twenties I wouldn't have taken that comment as a racial statement. And to be honest, you kind of sound like Daniel Snyder, Roger Goodell, and all the other Redskins fans who don't understand where the Native Americans are coming from when saying they find that term offensive. Just because you don't find it offensive, doesn't mean other people don't. And instead of telling them to look in the mirror, you should inquire why they find it offensive. Because one should be understanding and open minded to where that person is coming from and trying to express. That's how social growth and understanding occurs. But as 79letour said, this thread is about XV modifications not racial understanding, if you care to carry this conversation on further feel free to PM me.

Which, frankly disgusts me. There used to be a day you could make fun of each other without offending someone else, or that person crying racism when there isn't any. If your a drug dealer, and were offended by the remarks, then fricken get over it and change your damn ways and straighten up. If your not a drug dealer, but found racism in the fact someone said drug dealer, then you yourself should look in the mirror, cause your the one being racists. It's not a color if skin thing, and Dr Carson can tell you under the dura we all look the exact same. So if everyone focused on content, and the content offends you then maybe that's good and you change your content to better yourself. Done- simple- anything else is nothing but a ploy, if you don't know what I mean, then you never will.

... back to xv's and mods- here is a company sellimg aluminum skid plates. $200 sounds kinda pricey though for something I can make at work.
Not in any rush to go offroading, so it won't be soon, but I want to make some of these. I could plasma cut it and bend it on the brake in 15 minutes. Then a quick trip to the fastener dept and I'll be set.
should be pretty easy.

if my car werent dgm (light black!) I'd probably do those too. With my grille plastidipped though the front is pretty well blackened.
I'm slightly jealous of you guys with the tangerine color. That and the khaki.
Everything brightly colored I've ever driven seems to draw more attention when I'm going 55 in a 40.
I still think a "general lee" orange subaru would be awesome!

Thanks, the part comes with instructions, a set of screws/caps, 3m alcohol cleaning wipes, and attaches to the 5 extra holes under the bumper in addition to a strip of 3m tape on the inside. Lining everything up is the hardest part, I made sure I took my time and used tons of tape while trying to position it perfectly. Once it goes on, and is not perfect, the holes under the bumper will not line up.

Subaru claims its supposed to protect from stone chips, but its a super thin piece of resin, so its more for looks than anything. D

More pics...

Thanks, that piece has been out since the car launched in 2012. Its in accessory brochures for Japan, UK, Canada, Norway, etc. Its only not sold in the USA and Australia for some reason. When I called US dealerships and asked them to look up the part#, they saw it on their computer but it said EXPORT ONLY and wouldnt let them order it. I eventually had to order the underguard from a Canadian subaru dealership and had them freight ship it to me in Los Angeles. The funny thing is, the Canadian dealership told me that they had to special order it out of Subaru's Portland warehouse!

Was pricy for a thin piece of plastic ($230 USD), but I think it really changes the look of the car and makes it look more in line with the XV concept.

I agree, that thin piece of plastic really sets off the look of the front! It's a shame they don't offer it for sale in the US. Looks like we in the States get screwed again...

The biggest screwing is not getting the 6mt dual-range that other markets get with their XV's.
Oh and the DIESEL!!!

Honestly, this is one of the things that pisses me off the most about Subaru! Not to turn this thread into another bitch fest, but US Subaru's are pretty much neutered versions of Subaru's from other countries.

I don't know, but I'd bet a lot of it is regulations. That hampers lots of fun in lots of industries vs other countries

And why were side markers on 90's imprezas but our new one marketed heavily on safety is devoid of any?

Idk, I think a 6MT would fix low and high gearing issues and help mpg. Maybe they couldn't get the power curve right with the FB-20.
