Nice!!, you going to paint it at all or leave it like that?

also do you have any shots from further back?

Eventually the car is getting plastidipped white. So When I do I am going to mask off half of the lip so it will blend well.

So far I have hit a couple of gravel roads and took a nice highway trip for two hours. Its holding up very well even with self tapers still in it.

Very well done, I too like how you painted the lip partially to blend it in.

Just wondering, but does this DIY lip cause additional freeway noises?

Nope. Not at all. It is my theory that this actually makes the front end more aerodynamic.

heres another angle for curious people

I'm going to do this once I source the materials. Except I'll be trying out blue vinyl instead of WRB blue paint. I'm going to try and see how it looks with all the hardware hidden.

Just an update for all you prospective folks. I recently was backing out of a drive way and caught the lip on an edge again. This time it finally cracked. Went back to the plastic supplier and got the same size 1/8" x 3.5" x 8' but instead of black abs I got black polycarbonate. Runs about twice as much but should be much tougher. Came out great. Pics in the morning.

No need to link up, if you just show up before 4:30 any day they just cut the strip. The polycarbonate was about $20 for just the size you need. Abs was about $10

Thanks a lot for the idea! +1 from me for sure. Did mine today, and I think it looks great! Coming from having the ProDrive + V-limited combo that scraped everywhere and because of that kept coming loose. Still debating whether to paint a strip of WRB or not, but I don't have any of the proper color on hand anyway.. I didn't keep even spacing between the mounting screws (probably should have, but I think it's too late now).

For anyone looking for additional angles..

Don't mind the rest of the car, I know it's a mess; I'm working on it..

Hey that looks spot on! What did you use for screws? I see them poking out a little.

Thanks! Yeah they're allen-head machine screws, just because we didn't trust ourselves enough to make proper countersinks for the screws in just 1/8" of material. Screws look like this:

Not as clean, but for the personal piece of mind I thought it was a good idea.

Those screws are going to rust the first time you get them wet. I recommend getting some stainless steel button head screws. You can get them at hardware stores.
