Default Calling all RA Mudflaps owners!

Question for anyone that owns RA MUDFLAPS on their subie. How much of a difference does it make in preventing rock chips? I have a 2011 WRX and the paint F-ing SUCKS! I went camping for the first time since i bought the car and i noticed some more rock chips on the bottom door panels.

I dont want to get it unless its actually functional. Let me know!

They keep quite a bit of dirt and rocks off the side of my car, now if I could just get things to stop chippping my hood I'd be set.

Extremely functional. My first mod. Done with 34 miles on the car. It'll keep it clean. Also, invest in a clear bra for at least your front end

As all have stated above, the RA mudflaps have been very functional. They are wider than the fender which helps a lot. I have not had any rock chips on the sides since I put them on. They look great too!

There is a mudflap thread with pictures so you can see what nearly every combination of flaps look like.

I have found mine to be very functional and adds an aggressive look to the wheels. Be prepared for some strange noises where you think you are continuously bottoming out your rear end of your car - it's your flaps.

very true statement from joebreeves. speed bumps sound like a little scraping but it's just the flap. it helps alot since the RA flap actually stick out to the side just enough to keep crap away from your car. highly recommend.

They look fine, I didn't want them because I don't rally race, but got sick if the rock chips on the rear doors popping up each wash. They work do if you want them for that purpose they work good

I only put the front flaps on since I only care for the sides of my car.
I left the rear ones uninstalled... not a big fan of the way it looks from the rear

I put mine on a used 2004. Before I'd have dirt, road grime, whatever.. plastered all over the lower front doors and rear bumper. With the $50 basic mudflaps, all that is kept clean for the most part. Not nearly as bad as before.

I highly recommend them. I just lowered my car and they drag on really high speedbumps, but not much. Just something to consider. The UR ones would be 100% fine. Even the basic ones bend.

Huge difference. I didn't get them for the first year of owning my 2012 Hatch because honestly I think the car looks better without them. But by the end of my first year (and only 4800 miles!!!) the painted area behind my wheels in the fenders looked like crap! And it was ony driven on paved roads! So I bit the bullet and got the flaps. I've grown to accept the look (I still think it looks better without the flaps) but they sure do protect the car! Especially the rear fender flares..rocks kicked up from the front wheels love to fly towards that part of the car!

They work great. I don't have mud all over the sides of my car anymore.

At first I hated them. Then it slowly grew on me especially once I realized how much of a difference it made with keeping the sides clean.

I always scrape the flaps when I pull out of my driveway. oh wellz

+1 for Flapatax,

Mud flaps make good curb feelers when parallel parking too.

Nothing wrong with them, but after installing both, the RA hardware is much better quality

I got the UR RA flaps and they really help. I had that problem because I live in NW Indiana and the roads are terrible here (more rocks on the road than off). Give the car a more aggressive look and they look sick

Default RA UR Mudflaps_ Very Happy

Installed a set of these on my 13 WRX about 4 months ago when I received delivery of the car. In the mean time the city decided to chip and tar the 2 miles to my house. I will have to say these things work like RA advertises.... no tar or chips on the fenders yet.

On the other had I will say for nearly $200 shipped I expected the fitment of these to be slightly better but its nothing a little tweeking didn't fix. Also if you are anal about appearance as I am look into black chromed hardware to replace what RA provides and painting the brackets, I couldnt stand seeing shiny silver lock nuts and a SST bracket against a black fender wall.

They totally complete the look of the car too imo.

RA mudflaps is very well made, but I am just a little worry about the rear flaps because there is only one plastic screw holding it to the car. I am thinking about drilling another hole and use another screw (metal) to make sure it stays tighter.

it goes in between the inside bumper piece and fender well with screws as well, the flaps are grade A in my book. done with 125 mi on the car and give it a great look and help a lot.
