These were installed just last night and have only about 10 miles on them. I expect they will settle a bit more...

Look at the first pic in the set. EPIC Engineering fitment for the 2008-2010 WRX (part number EE-S-WGR-001), purchased from the outstanding folks at Oakos.

I got tired of waiting for the H&Rs for our cars to be produced...

No problem, they are somewhat new in the market. I did a lot of research and these EPICs were pretty highly thought of. The drop is not huge, the ride is good and they don't kill the stock struts.

EPICs are re-badged Eibachs BTW, with a slightly different spring rate.

Hope that you enjoy them mentholguy!

I think that they have settled nicely in the week that they have been on. The ride is very close to stock, just a bit stiffer. The EPICs are progressives, so I would probably go another direction if I was going hardcore or was going to track them. Our cars are so slow and my commute is so long that I feel this is perfect for what I need.

Can't wait to see pictures and hear your review of them once installed. I also considered RCE blacks before I bought the EPICs. They should work nicely for you from all the reviews that I have read on them!

Question.

When I get my coilovers, would anyone be interested in buying my stock shocks and springs? All 4 corners. 2013 Sport with ~10k on them. As backups or to install springs on, etc.

I might be interested in the struts only since my Sport has nearly 45k on it - price dependent. I don't know if you would consider splitting things up or not. We might even be able to avoid shipping too, since we are only a couple hours from each other.

Shame is, I was just in downtown Pittsburgh last week...

I am in noooo hurry for them. Basically I would just be putting them away until my stockers are toasted.

Wow, what ever will I do with TWO extra sets of stock springs. I just put mine up in my attic after installing my EPICs a couple of weeks ago. Maybe I can use them as coffee table legs or something...

How has the car been settling? Is the drop noticeable now?

hahahaha Touché.

Nah, money and situations changed. Plus, at that time, we were all waiting for those magical H&R's to come out..

Real-world drop after a couple of weeks of driving is 1.25" in the front and 1" in the rear. I have about 2 fingers of gap in the front wells and just slightly more than 2 fingers gap in the back. I think it looks pretty even and I would rather have a bit of rake than saggy-butt syndrome.

I'll try to snap a picture over the weekend, it has been a crazy work week.

That's my big thing. I do want to eliminate a little wheel gap, but I mostly want to have the car not have the 80's Cadillac blown rear air-shocks look. haha

Are there any strut upgrade options for our cars yet, or is it pretty much OEM and OEM? I would like something with a little more guts than stock.

Please do not suggest coilovers - they are not an option in my world.

I may be wrong, but if we can run 08+ WRX coilovers, I'd imagine we can also run 08+ WRX shocks/struts. So you could likely pick up your choice of those and springs to match.. But don't quote me on that..

If 2008+ WRX shocks/struts do indeed fit, that would be outstanding. That said, I am NOT going to be the guinea pig on this one. I've been down that road WAY too many times over the years with these things.

Anyone actually tried this?

I didn't even have access to the coilovers I installed onto my car, I just ordered a set due the fact the website listed them for 2013+ Imprezas. I even contacted them multiple times to verify that it was for our generation and when I received them the box had a 2008+ WRX label on it. But I installed them anyway and they fit. So I honestly can't see why struts wouldn't fit, but I'll hopefully find out soon for sure since I'm taking off my coilovers this month and will be going with an aftermarket springs and struts set-up eventually. I'm just trying to do some research on which springs and struts will provide the drop I want while still offering a smooth ride.

Installed my RCE black springs for 08+ WRX today. Hoping it would settle more for the next week. The car is much more stable on corners now, the ride is just a TINY TINY BIT more harsh than stock.
