Ice caves, Dicks, Discovery Park hands down and there are plenty of excellent dining places listed above. Also, a Sounders game is slightly life changing...just a little

Read this thread yesterday, then went to Paseo's for dinner. Worth the wait in line. Delicious.

I would go to the glass garden next to the space needle in Seattle, Mee Sum pastry in pike place market and get a BBQ pork Hombow(easy take out, and you wont regret it) and also Beth's cafe for a delicious omelette. Also maybe make a drive down to Crystal mountain and take the Gondola up to look at Mt Rainier, or go to Paradise @ Mt. Rainier for some AMAZING views. I'm gonna have to try out this Paseos place.

Go to Crystal mountain and ride the gondola to the top of the mountain. Feels like you can reach out and touch Mt Rainier.

+1 ... It is a touristy thing to do, and you said "non-touristy", but it's so much fun; especially if you're new to Seattle

thanks.

I'm there 2.5 days, here's a rough itinerary, please let me know if i should switch anything up, we'll be using public transportation:

Staying @ crowne plaza by the convention center

Day 1, Friday
Pike market (if we get an early start)
Science center/Needle, Laser show?
Kerry Park or Lake Union?
Lunch @ Paseo
Ballard locks
Discovery park @ around 6PM for sunset

Or should we go to Discovery park around noon for the tide pools (not sure if 2ft is low enough)

Day 2
Pike market
Aquarium
Alki
Pioneer Square
Pinball museum
Sounders game

Day 3, leave by 3PM
Volunteer Park Conservatory
Walk around Capitol hill?

Bainbridge, it's a nice ferry ride on a good day, there's also a shuttle that will pick u up from the ferry station at Bainbridge island to the casino, if you like casino or just the buffet in the casino. And also after riding the ferry you can ride the Great Wheel by the waterfront.
