Default Dome & Map Light problem after 02 wrx radio into 99 Legacy

Hello,

I attempted to install an 02 WRX radio into a 99 Legacy. The Legacy had a Sony xplode installed before the car was purchased used.

The previous install wasnt the prettyest, but it worked.

I took a record of what stock wires went to which of the Sony's harness.

Clipped it out, Put female bullet style connectors on all the wires, put male connectors on the wrx harnes.

Matched up the swithced and constant powers (Black/Red/yellow form Harnes, to Black/Yellow/red-blue on the car).

I wasnt getting any power, so i thought i might have the diagram of the harness mixed up in my head.

After a few swtiches of the wires, the radio turned on, but on ly with the headlights.

Another connection I made illuminated the done light. After that, no more dome light or map light.

All the other electronics seem to work OK.

I checked the fuses, all look OK. What else could I have messed up?

At the end of the day, we tried to put the xplode back in with the wires matched where they were. No power to the sony now.

CN: Did some bad wiring now map and dome lights dont work, and the previous radio doesnt work either

double check your fuses--

You know you have 2 fuse boxes? im 90% sure its a fuse problem.

in my car on the left of my steering wheel theres a coin box and if you remove that theres a fusebox. I had the same issue until i figured out about that fuse box then there were 2 fuses there messed up

the 99 has one under the dash. My RS has it in the coinbox like you mentioned.
Double checked the the one under the dash, and the one in the engine bay.

You're right that it sounds like a fuse problem, but i couldn't find a bad fuse. I guess a triple check wouldnt hurt.

Is there another fuse box i'm missing?
