I would like to see how that HTA3788 spools. From what I have seen the HTA3794 gets a little more laggy than I like with our 2.5's. If your willing to rev it out pretty high the 3794 does make really good power.

I haven't seen any HTA3788 Subaru data yet.

I will have the RPM to rev it out if we go with the 3794 and make some serious jam but with the release of the 3788, it seems like it will be pretty hard to pass up, we'll see what happens I guess? lol

I have in-cockpit boost control also. I wouldn't go without it.

If you weren't able to change your boost settings while driving, would you still run gate pressure John?
Ive noticed the same

On my MR2 running gate pressure VS MBC a couple psi more def spooled faster(150-300rpms).

Yea it's as big as a boat anchor! lol

Just wondering, why didn't you go with a more compact, newer technology ball bearing turbo like a 3794 or 6766 that will make the same power?

6766 is actually alot smaller flow wise. This is a big 67. Those are small 67's.

Also the bw has pretty has some pretty good tech.- they love high high boost

How much power you trying to make? 1000?! lol

Don't get me wrong, they have been around forever and work but smaller 67s are gonna come onto boost sooner and have the same top end results...

I'd expect 40-90 whp more up top over the 6766.

And yeah agreed the smaller ones will do what I want for sure. I may swap to test and see what happens. The results may surprise you .

So what is your power goal?

Power doesn't anything with a 1000rpm powerband, the Mexico Sti is a prime example of that because they claim to have ran a 10.2(with no time slip that i have seen) making around 800whp and I went 10.4 with a slipping clutch while only making 600whp lol

That's why I'm at a cross roads between the 3794 & 3788, decisions decisions...

I will end up with 3k of powerband. And I agree it doesn't matter what it makes if its not useable. I intend to go alot faster than tens. Still alot of work to be done though.

I am going for better than p and l's drag car. 2400 lbs 900 whp.

But I also enjoy my car and drive it. I am not in a huge rush to go crazy fast as I love this hobby/lifestyle because its fun. I am perfectly happy as is even on wg. Which I know from the last few nights is enough to walk on 1000 cc sport bikes . I rev it out to 8400 ish if I'm in it hard.

Good luck to you on your endeavors. Your car obviously performs very well.

That's a crazy goal to go for but if you accomplish it, that would be insane!!!

Yea I'm looking forward to racing some of my buddies that have street bikes and showing them a thing or two lol

Got another piece to the puzzle in the mail today that I'm pretty pumped about! ;-)

I found an N/A long runner manifold on a Facebook Subaru page that came with the stock rails, injectors, coil pack, throttle body, harness, etc for only $60 so I had to jump it before someone got it lol

I took some pictures with my Boomba throttle body attached to just to see how it looks...

I'm taking it to our machinist today for him to grind off unneeded tabs, EGR routing, match the manifold inlet to the throttle body diameter and make adapters for my new cosworth fuel rails then it will go off to Curt Brown for porting!!!

Yeah I was gonna save up for one too until I read the data on it.

Cosworth looks better but with some work I think these will look good too, and I'm a cheap ass so $$$ is more important than looks to me.

Yea I was happy when I read the thread comparing the CFM flow between various and this manifold was one of the higher flowing as well as very minimal difference across all runners!

Honestly I kinda like how these look when they are cleaned up and powder coated so its a win-win situation for me lol

This will be awesome, especially after some porting :-)
