Swapping C16 to C15 is the way to go for an ADM to JDM swap. (I also found a few incorrect references to D16 to D15.)

Now to sort out the power steering and exhaust, then go for a drive...

FYI, Loosening the turbo bolts still didn't give enough clearance to get the motor in, I ended up removing the 2 bottom studs and replacing them with bolts.
Glad I could help someone =]
took me a lot of hours of search and trials...

OK, another question for the experienced...
Everythings running sweet. I've modified the splitter so all the intercooler gets air, sorted the exhaust, got the aircon working etc. I'm happy withe the power increase but It's always nice to get a little more.
So now It's time to start fiddling.
The only problem is I can't get the ECU to go into programing mode.
I've connected the 2 green plugs and shorted the 2 pins of the white plug under the dash but the fans don't cycle and my Tactrix cable wont download the ROM.

I can get logging data fine and the cable itself will log, so it's not a problem there.
Are there any other wiring changes that need to be made?

I don't touch the white plugs. Just connect the 2 green connectors.

Are you turning the key and hitting the button quick enough to work aka fans cycle etc?

Yeah have tried a few different combinations.

Just to clarify.
My impression is that even if you don't have anything to read the ECU, if you have the plugs connected and turn the ignition on the fans should still cycle.

For reading the ECU the trick is to start the software before the fans switch off.

How is everyone's EJ207's doing?

I took my car out to auto-x at Subiefest and have what sounds like a stuck idler (getting a nice squeal) even though they are all brand new. The timing cover is coming off this weekend to see what's up, but wondering if anyone else has heard of this?

I only drive mine about 1-2 times a month for a few miles. Love it every time.

Bumping this thread since the OP seems to be gone. Have an AVCS question.
After reading the thread, I got a bit confused on what I need to do wiring wise. I bought a jdm engine harness, and I also bought an avcs harness like OP had from another member that has been prepped. My car is an 02 wrx manual. I'm following the ds1 write up but now I'm wondering if I'm doing too much. Last night I got as far as page one. The one on moving pins 4 5 10 11. I also added 6" pigtails to pin 2 3 9 14 15. These are not yet soldered to anything. I'm worried about pin 14 because it says shield common ground. Not sure what that means. So my question is, do I need to follow the ds1 instructions all the way, or do I not, since I have the harness.

I don't remember the ds1 instructions mentioning anything about soldering. You should just be relocating pins and adding in your harness.

You will need to re-locate 4 pins, and add 2 additional. I ended up going with the IA Performance AVCS wiring harness, and it was SUPER simple. I highly recommend it, just plug and play.

I scrounged mine out of the full JDM harness. There is already a fully functional shielded harness in there if you know where to look. lots of messy wiring to sift through to get to it though. then it was just move a few and plug in. super easy.
