The car is fine, it's me
On my street bike lady turned in front of me so I went 45 in to the side of her car. Both wrists fractured, 4 fractures in pelvic bone, severe trauma, concussion, etc... Took 10-12 days for memory to be better than a goldfish. And the lady is lucky I was knocked out because honest to god I would have lost it and hospitalized her. The left wrist got really messed up happened over 3 weeks ago now and it's still in constant pain! But the damages will heal never mind being luck to be alive I'm lucky to have no life long disabilities!

Not having a $4000 bike with $2000 in parts/maintenance done means CAR PARTS once I'm back to work which will be exciting!

And the world just loves hearing stories like this so here are a few pics... Open at own risk

Vaguely remember sharing room with guy in a similar accident and day of and day after people in nearby towns passed from bike accidents!

Yea but she has **** coverage so I maxed her medical coverage out real quick gota go through mine too. Idk exactly but a rough estimate would be around $250,000-$350,000 in medical bills already. Hospital already put a lien on her property! Also her insurance was not happy to hear on top of the value of the bike they are covering $2000 in recent maintenance and parts, dress clothes I was wearing, D&G prescript glasses, months of lost wages, etc...

Thanks everyone for the kind thoughts it means a lot!

Glad to hear you'll be making a full recovery. I really hope you get fully compensated for her mistake.

Don't worry I already have a personal injury lawyer getting involved. Going to be getting quite the check after this! Unfortunately it's not worth any amount though.

Sorry bro- hate to hear a fellow rider go down like that. I've never hit anything hard except asphalt, but that was bad enough. Hope you take care of yourself. The wrists are going to be the long term issue unfortunately. Don't try too much too fast, let them heal.

Oh I plan on taking my time! Being only 21 I've got plenty of it too. And the money I'm loosing not working I'm getting back so no rush! Also, I've got these removable cast things on each arm so it helps me remember to take it easy! Be careful out there! The way my accident unfolded according to police report/witness (I don't remember any of it) I had 1.5sec to react not enough time to even swerve or brake. No matter how safe and careful you are the chance is there!

Two of my accidents involved going over backwards while doing wheelies. The third (actually my first ) was just being stupid thinking I was all that dragging a peg on a corner. Moral of that story is sometimes the public roads have gravel on them ;-). Now when I ride I'm much more careful, no real long wheelies, and no crazy driving around others.

What camera/lens are you using?

Circular polarizer and wider aperture will help you isolate the car from the background.

Otherwise, car looks good!

Why a 18-55mm and 50mm? the former already covers the ladder. Right?

Not even close. The only thing it covers is focal length. Optically the 50 prime is hands down better. It also lets you stop down to 1.8 instead of 3.5 (whatever the kit lens is).

I see. Sad to say I don't think I've touched my DSLR for any amount of time in two years. I got into slide film for a while. Now I haven't touched my Film camera since the beginning of the summer.

Can anyone give me a rough estimate on cost to do all my rotors and pads? Or what's the best bang for your buck set up? Thanks
