Default Cradel Brace 04 sti vs JDM 06 STI

I got a 5x114 conversion setup and it came with a RHD / Right Hand Drive Steering Rack and Engine Cradel. I noticed that the brace under the rack was 1 piece, and wider. Also lighter then the brace from my 04 sti.

Either of these "sought" after? The 04 sti setup weighed 3lbs more, nut seems Stronger visually. I went for the weight loss and installed the JDM Piece. In the picture below, the USDM Brace is on the left, JDM on the right.

what you guys think?

I believe the version (pictured right) was installed to all 2006-07 WRX and STi in the US as well. That is what is installed on my WRX as well as the last 06 and 07 STI I have been underneath.

It's in my 2005 as well, it's called a "jacking plate" according to the parts guys. I ordered a new one when mine rusted out and had a bolt seized in it.

The 2006-2007 USDM WRX and WRX-STI crossmembers are also the same and are stamped with "STI".

So no, not sought after.

You cannot swap the larger jacking plate (right) in place of the smaller one (left) without the accompanying crossmember.

ok well the item on the right loosk like it got rid of 2 pieces and turned it into 1.

I took the stuff from the one on the left off my 04 sti, and i put the 1 from the right on my 04 sti. so its defiantly interchangeable.
