Default Mach V Track Day 2013: November 2-3

It's the eighth annual Mach V Track Day! We're sponsoring another NASA HPDE weekend at Summit Point, WV. Mach V customers, friends, and fans will have a special paddock area where we can all hang out. We'll have some special goodies to give away.

The date: November 2-3, 2013.

There are groups for drivers of all experience levels, from advanced drivers, to rank novices. Anyone can drive. Note that this weekend is HPDE ONLY, no regular NASA race classes except Time Trials, so there will be more track time for HPDE. Racers, plan to come spectate! Or you can always do Time Trials.

Mach V Track Day pics from last year:

Registration is now open! Sign up quickly, because this event fills up fast. But if your class is full, don't despair -- PM me, and I can make some special stuff happen.

(Click the link above to register. Put "Mach V 2013" in the Comments field to let NASA know you're with us.)

More NASA info about the event HERE.

I'll be there instructing.

FYI...last track day at VIR there were 6 BRZs/FRSs. They are becoming a very popular track car.

This was my first track event last year and it was a BLAST!!! So much driving time. I planned to make more events this summer and didn't have the time. I'm blocking this weekend out and signing up!

Also, no more blue painter's tape numbers Makes my car look like such a noob above mav1c's

O.G. Racing (a few miles from the Mach V shop) stocks very nice peel-and-stick numbers.

I have officially signed up to instruct. Also, if anyone is looking for a hotel, the TownePlace suites in Winchester is nice and only about 15 minutes from the track.

As mentioned on the event info page, we get a $77/night rate there if you call and mention NASA.

This was my first full track weekend 4 years ago and it was a blast. I haven't been able to make it back since then, but I will be there this year! Thanks Jon and everyone at NASA MA for a great event. The extra track time is awesome.

I will come by the Mach V setup and say hello!

See you all there!

Debating which event to enter. Knowing what cars and any drivers I know will help make a decision. Other event has online entry list.

NASA doesn't have it automated? They do for rally.

It's done manually which takes several hours. Email me if you're looking to see if a specific person is registered, or group is well attended...

Edit: see below, a rough draft is posted now

We just posted a list of names - not really an entry list, since run groups are unconfirmed and car numbers are invisible - to the event page http://www.nasaracing.net/?page_id=2981 . Also a possible alternate schedule... i.e. more track time for everyone if TT signups continue to be light

Being on the fence is NOWHERE NEAR AS FUN as being on the entry list. ;-)

It's not full yet, but we expect it to be (as it has been in prior years)

Went to inspect the car yesterday and found the Dunlops a little worn. Will these pass tech/is it safe to run? I read the rules and it says no cords but minimum wear is to the wear bars. TIA

There's meat but the inside wear is what has me concerned. I plan to bring another set of Hankooks just in case but they aren't nearly as grippy as the Dunlops. :-(

Summit puts more wear on the left side tires -especially left front.

Can you fix whatever alignment issue is causing that problem?

Can you remount "reversed" (i.e. left inside is now right outside) and get more life out of that pair?

I actually bought the Dunlops with the wheels so the wear was there from the previous owner. That tire pictured is the left rear. The right rear is similar. I can easily flip em and have the wear on the outside portion. The fronts have much more even treadwear. I'll flip em then. I just don't feel like having issues with tech inspection. Thanks.
