There's no visual or anything? I'm in California. It's a nightmare trying to get smogged here. That just sounds too good to be true

So long as your car is OBDII (it is) and doesn't have any active codes you are good. Every car I've had tested they just plug in the scanner. My modified z06 with no cats passed.

There is no visual inspection.

That's just fantastic. I'm actually looking forward to it now just so I can see my own baffled face. Thanks.

Its still the wild west out here.

And word of advice, go to a third party MVD place to register the car. I think they charge $10 extra or something like that, but it will save you from hours of misery waiting at the MVD. http://www.azmvdservices.com/locations-hours.html

So go to emissions first, then bring the emissions form to the MVD office and you'll be good to go. What part of town are you moving to?

Now that I think about it, Washington state does the same thing. Idk why California has to be so dumb about it

They do sniff the gas cap for evaporative emissions. However I've never had a car fail that. My wife just got our Honda pilot tested and it is a 04. No tailpipe sniff, just codes check and gas cap sniff.

I did have an experience with my previous car 02 jetta. I had a DP that threw cat ineff code. I had a vagcom (similar to Cobb ap) where I could clear codes. The only issue is that with obd2 the ecu needs about 50 miles of driving after a code clear to get to a readiness state. MVD won't pass you if your ecu isn't at the readiness state, they can read that with their scanner.

You picked the wrong place to live then. Daily high temps have still been around 100 lately. Feels great after 3 months at 115 though.

we'll definitely improve your concept of cold, then you'll be able to enjoy even more of it

before you'll have considered anything under 40 cold, now anything under 70 will qualify

yer welcome!
