Default Spring Help 2006 wrx tr

Ok, So I am about to purchase new struts. I have 130K miles on the original equipment and it way past time to replace these.

I am thinking I am going to purchase KYB struts just to avoid paying $700+ for just struts.

For Springs I was thinking RCE yellows, but I am noticing disclaimers saying that these won't fit on the stock struts without mods.

So my questions are will these springs fit with KYB struts and if not what are the mods needed. I am reeding something about saggy butt spacers and how big of a spacer do I need?

If anyone has another suggestion for spring brand, I am open ears

Do you mean KYB AGX struts ? I know the spring rate of the RCE's are pretty high for stock shocks or KYB Excel-G (or whatever they are called now). People usually like to pair the RCE Yellow/Blacks with Tokico D-Specs since those shocks are heavier duty. As far as additional hardware, you would need the scooby921 spacers for those since they are 02-03 fitment. Not sure about KYB struts. There's a spring rate chart out here on the forums that gives you most spring rates so you can pick something better to match whatever shock you're using. Usually non dspec springs are lower in spring rate. Personally I'm running tanabe gf210 05 specs with the dspecs and the ride comfort is perfect for dd. For reference the tanabe's i'm running are 325 lbs in the front 275 for the rear and according to guys at RCE their spring rates are in the same area.

Also, tokico blue's are a OEM mild upgrade, but not much. Look into those as well.

The yellows will likely be to much for the AGX's. The D-specs cost a lot but they are excellent. Far better than most low cost coilovers.

I ended up buying AGX's with swift springs. I still needed the scooby 921 spacers but these dont require saggy butt spacers unlike the RCE's. Since the AGX's are adjustable I believe these should be ok with the swifts.
