Any one ever purchased a motor from J spec auto before...

Well, for one they either dont know what type of engines they have or they outright lie. A while ago they had a "Ver. 7 STi with 6 speed" for sale for a huge amount and you could clearly see it was a Ver. 3 engine with 5 speed. It would suck when you go to put your tranny in "6th gear". (I know it won't let you) I would look somewhere else.

I heard the TT's have some really nice heads. I don't think there is anything inherently wrong with them, you just have to know what to expect and what you are getting into.

The advice I received time and time again was if you want a motor that you don't have to question the history of, you need to buy from a reputable shop that you know; preferrably local to you.

I went there and checked them out. Really beat engines that were literally chopped out of the cars, missing parts.. great for parts if you don't mind paying way too much for crap...

intersting that they pulled the auction
that plus a postal (RHD) legacy (there are 2 on ebay) would have been a cool project
