Heres a tip..

Play with lighting. It makes a huge difference on how the image comes out. I personally prefer to take pictures with the sun coming from the background closer to sunset, be in the shade, or have artificial lighting. Given the opportunity....

Reason why I hate direct sunlight on the car is because it makes a white spot and very hard to edit out.

Also save up for a Polar filter! makes a huge difference.

-----
Also, the best tip I can give to someone starting out is just play with your camera. I don't care what the book says. The books for photography are so generic that they don't always apply as authors have different cameras, and different setups from you, unless they have a book for your camera. Bring your camera like your a tourist. The best things to learn from IMO, are Landscape photography, and portraits. Both of these teach you lighting, angle, rule of thirds, and how to setup your camera for a shot. By this point, you should already know/figure out what kind of style you like in your photography. Then apply it to cars. Best of luck!

IMO that's not a real lip.

I was thinking more along the lines of OEM/replica lip or the 08-10 bayson R STI lip.

Hey there. I am a new user from Australia.
This is my 2010 Impreza RS (a non US trim) It comes with WRX body kit minus the scoop, 17 inch alloys, bucket seats and fog lights. My car includes the factory options of leather seats, mesh grille and a sunroof. I have also fitted Yokohama Advan's. Unfortunately, we only get a 2.0l engine with 147hp.

Plans:
- Red overlays on the tails
- Chrome trim painted to match body colour
- Rear sway bar
- maybe lower it a little

That looks so nice! Wish we had it in the states.

While we do get more power from the 2.5i motor, I'd rather have a reliable 2.0l with less power.

How isn't the 2.5i reliable?

2.5's are known more to blow headgaskets. Don't get me wrong they are more reliable in N/A than turbo models, but i'd have the 2.0 for ease of mind. And while the 2.0 can still blow a headgasket, its one thing I have to worry less about when other things arrise.

The people who are parting out want like ~$400-500 for them. Not really worth it.

Lol I know I want them. Just not a $400 want. If I can find it dirt cheap somewhere, I'll pick them up.

Matches your screenname.

How bad is the crack? As mentioned, Zipties ftw, but also depends on severity. a STI/WRX 2008-14 bumper will NOT fit as they're wide body. However, you could source a 08-10 WRX (Narrow body) front bumper. Only difference is the "premium lip" IIRC.

Yeah, thought so too. I'm like a girl who can't decide what to wear. In the market for coils and if someone makes an aluminum belly pan. Any ideas?

Definitely play around with your camera. I'm always learning when it come to shooting new places, equipment, and cars. Don't be afraid to just sit and think about it. and try new things. The weirder you look, is problably the better the shot

definitely play around with shutter speed, aperature and ISO as well.

if you think the lighting is off after you've shot it, try playing around with it on lightroom or photoshop. They're like wizards

shot this with just the harsh noon sun and a external flash. upped the contrast and clarity.

just used that one bulb you see there. no flash, just a tripod and paitence

used a soft box with a external flash and a radio trigger

i wouldn't say i agree with keeping the whole car in the frame all the time, but definitely know what your trying to show, and kind of exaggerate it alittle

wanted to show how tucked and low it was, as well as show the wheels and i really liked the headlights

Hope it helped! feel free to ask me questions as well

THIS +1million.

Close-up shots can give off a certain emotion in pictures. Its hard to explain, but as you get into shooting pictures yourself, or browsing through the interwebs, you can find some photos have an emotion of some sort.

That sounds familiar.. I hit a huge suicidal raccoon doing about 60- 65 mph..

Cracked the hell out of my lower bumper, broke 3 out of 4 plastic internal supports, and the tow hook cover was never to be seen again (and I looked for quite a while)..

My cheapskate ins. company wanted to put some Chinese bumper cover on there so I just took the money and bought the internal supports and a factory front lip spoiler to cover the cracks and the tow hook cover, then I got that painted the same time I did my rear chrome.

I dropped that company and now I have a 250 dollar deductible instead of $500 for collision, but same premiums..

After-

Any of you run the RalliTek Skidplate? Comments, feedback, fit and finish? Or should I look at another company for a skidplate.

Thanks
