Default Tire wear winter vs summer

I have a set of winter tires on my stock 16" rims that have been on the car the last 4 winters and still look great. I also have a set of summer tires on 18" 8" wide rims. These tires have been on my car during the summer for just as many years as the winter tires(winter tires are on longer then summer). However, my summer tires within two years at most showed wear on the inside edges. What is the cause of the wear on the summer tires inner edge but normal even wear on my winter tires. I did some research and from what I wheel size should not make a difference on alignment.

Tires weren't properly balanced?

Summer tires are softer?

Overinflated tires will show camber wear more prominently.

Any of these doing anything for ya?

Summer tires are softer however, after a few years uneven wear should dow on all tires. Wheels ran smooth so I think they were well balanced. I do not believe they were overinflanted necause I usually kept them around 33 psi if I am remembering correctly.
