I think it's when you shoot up some krokodil (Google image search) and you see things that aren't there.

4 drunk college kids pile into my bone stock rex to go down town last winter.
Start the car...
The two girls in the back immediately: "ooh"
My buddy: "Oh yeah this car's a racecar, its awesome"

Another kid at my school: "dude that's a sick body kit on that golf, too bad its not a rwd though; you could drift"

Background: I just got my WRX about a month ago and I was talking to my friend who has a 5.0L Mustang (gorgeous car, I love the Mustangs but still found this funny). Anyway we were having a bit of an argument about who has the better car. Paraphrased but you get the idea:

Him: Well, let's race! I'll destroy you!
Me: Yeah, OK, how about you choose the location, and I'll choose the time?
Him: *knowing full well I'm going to say sometime when the snow is falling* No way that's not fair!
Me: Fine, whatever, you can choose the time and I will choose the location.
Him: *again, knowing I would pick something like a windy gravel road out of town* C'mon man this is BS.
Me: I rest my case

I owned a 2012 5.0 and all you really need to take him is if the road is mildly moist. His back end won't hook up when he tries to launch. (Personal experience)

I recently moved to Richmond and the first day of high school, I'm driving off campus and the staff directing the chaos of traffic looks at my wrx points and yells "Now that's a cool car!! I like your car!!" everyone turns and looks. Guess he was a fanatic or something.

I always get the A4's with the S4 badge mod and the BMW boys rocking the "M" badge conversion.

Silly kids, your tiny brakes and friendly exhaust notes tell the truth!

I think that the manufacturers do this just to fool people to pay an extra 7 grand for seats and a new suspension
