Default Tire fitment stock wheels

OK so Im looking for a pretty decent set of all season tire for my 13 wrx with stock wheels. I also have mudflaps and it is NOT lowered and never will be. Question is will 265/45 be okay? I want that beefy look with my tires but want to make sure I don't ruin into any problems. Also if a have a full car of my friends too, will it rub?

Any recommendations for specific size or even tire would be great!

265/45-17 will be a bit over an 1" taller than your stock tire size. 265/40-17 would retain essentially the same diameter, but seems like a rare size of tire. 255/40-17 is a more common tire size and decently close to the stock diameter.

so...will it fit and is it best are two completely different questions.

first. learn how tire sizing works. you'll soon realize why 265/45 is a stupid idea. its way too tall.

secondly, it also helps to learn what is considered "proper" width tire given a wheels width. I wouldn't run a 265 on an 8" wheel. Hell, I wouldn't even run a 255 on an 8" wheel.

will it fit? sure. is it best? far from it.
