I hope you are right. Competition breeds advancement. If Lexus really did step it up on the performance and drive side, maybe BMW pulled their heads out of their rears and will go back to their roots.
My wife has always had (has) toyotas. I love the brand, just couldn't do it for the last gen IS. Maybe I need to drive one. But I did just buy a subaru. I have some time before I buy anything.

This is the biggest problem with BMW. Options are crazy expensive, packaged weird and EVERYTHING is an option. They are nice standard, but there are so many options that are really nice to have.

320i starts at $33k, but your right, the base model is bare bones and you will never see one of those in the dealer.

It sure lures in many buyers and they walk out with a $600 monthly payment... but for 10 years
