Default Big DIY upgrade tuning help!

So, I'm diving in head first into my sti without too much experience. I have done a lot of research and have tons of learning to do still.
I drive an 04 sti completely redone as 07 engine drivetrain wheels entire front end interior and everything else I know of except the taillights.
You may laugh at me as I set out towards my goal but here goes, and hopefully I can get help along the way because after install of the following parts I will need help tuning for sure.
Blown turbo,
upgrade time
Buy a new one from here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/140944015042...84.m1439.l2649
got these injectors but shorter import fit
http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-SET-850cc-...31c2aa&vxp=mtr
and this fuel pump
http://www.ebay.com/itm/340LPH-High-...vip=true&rt=nc
also bought an innovate mtx-1 wideband and a tactric 2.0
I Have the turbo installed already and am not taking it out currently.
It runs and sounds great just waiting on some parts.

I did a LOT of work looking into the parts and companies I bought from.
I know these are considered ebay "garbage" parts I believe these parts will perform as good or better than equal counterpart name brand parts, and this is a test to find out what they can do.
I also ride on a set of KW Variant 3's that I love as long as im not in town on the street.

I feel I drive as hard as one could without destroying my vehicle so they will be tested on the amazing mountain roads here in southern oregon.

Why buy ebay injectors...i understand the turbo attempt but i would not **** with fueling when theres such a high chance of you just needing to rebuild your motor.

Those injectors are from fiveo motorsports.
They are well known in the honda/nissan world but not so much here. I know they make good products and decided to give their new injectors a try. Maybe it was not the best choice, but we will see what happens.
actually I bought them off their website but just put that link up.

OK, heres what I found out yesterday,
I do not have an 07 STI engine. I went to take out the spark plugs and right away I noticed the injectors where the side feed yellows.
Now I need some info on how to adjust tune for the turbo so I can at least feel safe driving to the store.
I am currently on a Stage 2 map from XPT Tuning.
I'm hoping to just learn what I can because I am determined to do all my work myself because I have this car to drive it, and I intend to put my life in the hands of properly tightened bolts, always double checked.
It's a lot cheaper too lol. and waay more fun.

If you have yellow side feeds these top feeds arent going to work unless I missed where you talked about your side to top feed conversion.

yea, I just added parts to my list.
TGV deletes, phenolic spacers, and rails off a wrx bought from here a couple days ago.
I was thinking of getting fuel rails, and adding a new FPR with a parallel system, but I don't really have the cash for it, and I think it's prob not really necessary anyway right?
Oh, and added a new turbo inlet also, figured it's prob the best time to do it eh?
I'm trying to get my Cobb short ram back too.

WOW,
you guys really only care about people spending 4G's on these parts?
I mean are we driving ferrari's and lambo's? No, the cars we drive are the cheapest possible design for an automobile that can perform.
As long as the part is actually constructed out of the proper materials, machined to proper tolerances, and assembled with performance in mind, then tested, there is no way it can be of lower quality than a big name part company.
I have seen that many companies are sourcing their materials/castings etc from the same places.
I see the need for more R&D on the part of these companies offering lower prices, and you always have to use your best judgement when buying Ebay parts.
MOST of what I find on there IS junk, period!
There are many exceptions to this though, and I think I have found them.
I do feel ignored on this site, as if you guys are stuck up and too cool for the "EBAY PARTS DUMBASS NEWB"
Come on guys, are you really afraid to help me?
I'm gonna flame this **** if this is how a newb in need is gonna be treated.
You know what, I think maybe I'm not good enough to drive this car, what do you guys think?
All the response I got was, Uhh dude, why waste your money on Ebay injectors?
How much do you really know if you don't even know Five-O has a good rep, even better than other well known vendors of the like.
Am I really to just think you guys are either too egotistical to help, too busy doing your own thing, or maybe nobody on here really does know how to work on their own car.
Like others on this site have said, I buy parts from ebay bacause I have no other choice.
I just love to drive this awesome machine.
I'm just looking for info.
Mainly I just need to do some hard learning, and apply it with the help of someone who has done this before.
I need to OpenSource tune as soon as the install is complete. I have everything I need I believe.
I promise I will appreciate any help, or time taken out of your day to help.

Please if I'm being a dumb-fu*k set me straight.

all they are trying to do is not get you to waste your money on parts that are iffy. If that ebay turbo grenades it could kill your whole motor, which is $$$$ obviously. Your always better off saving for quality parts. Also you defiantly do not want your injectors to crap out, you will end up going lean and popping your motor. Just trying to save you misery and money in the long run. I have had good luck buying used quality parts off the forums. Also if you have never tuned get a dyno tune ($$$ but worth it) or a tune from clark turner or another online tuner. An e tune is just a few hundred bucks and is a bunch of peace of mind that its tuned right. I have tuned up small block chevy's but i still have no idea where to start with romraider and ecu tek. Just experience from my buddies cars and my personal cars. you are always better of doing it right the first time with good parts or you will run into issues into the future.
good luck!

Hey, thanks for the positive vibe.
I appreciate it.
So, opensource tuning is pretty much considered for the most experienced it seems. That means lots of hard work for me. Good thing I learn fast.

Just finished getting everything installed.
Figuring out this whole tuning thing is a lot to learn.
If anyone has any pointers or wants to help point me in the right direction of any info that might help I would greatly appreciate it.
Getting the injectors scaled and turning off codes is where i'm at right now.
Gonna pull the stage 2 map I got from XPTTuning.com and work with it from there I guess since I don't know of any other map to start with that would be better.

Now I can't even get it to load the options to choose 05-07 STi, don't know what changed. I was going to try to use a hex editor to change the rom ID's back to their original values. I will wait and see if anyone has the defs I guess, and maybe that will work, who knows.

Oh I know I've learned a lot already, and way more to learn still.
I'm just waiting for the ECU definitions used by XPT on my stage 2 map because I can't read the file when it reads to ECU only save it.
I suppose I could just flash someone elses stage 3 map as long as they have stock MAF scaling, adjust injector scaling, and I'd prob be closer to where I need to be than starting with my old stg2.
Let me know if I'm wrong.
I'd still like to at least have a copy of it, but I guess it's not really important.
I had someone flash it for me a year ago, so he prob still has it anyway.
If I can't get ECUflash to read my ecu and then give an error (no vehicle selection screen when I click read to ECU) like it was before, when I figured out the problem with XPT changing the rom ID.

Tuning these injectors has not been easy.
Set the latency and scaling correctly I believe, but AFR is at 10.
Got it to go up to around 11 by increasing scaling, but still not right.
I have a log of the idle with hopefully good parameters set.
My next step would be changing MAF scaling unless my 6v latency is that far off from what I guessed it should be.
I'm using a Stg2 map from here

Thanks, I appreciate it!
In case anyone was wondering, I think the cost on this has come in under 2k by a bit, especially if you don't count having to get a new netbook after deciding chromebooks would be an interesting choice.
All this started when my turbo went out and I couldn't find a used one.

Everything is put back together, and lightly tuned so far thanks to major help tuning!
Went on a drive, and it was enjoyable, but there's a lot to come soon!
There it is, just days before the turbo went a few months ago!

I've got it running pretty good now, but ran into an issue.
As I was tuning for max boost, I found I can only hit about 13psi no matter how much WGDC I add. (Also adjusted MAX WGDC, no difference) Target Boost set at 18.5psi
I assume it has to be either of two things, something to do with my restrictor pill I may have removed, or something else routed wrong with those lines, or I have a boost leak.
There's no way that turbo maxes at 13psi. I should get well over 20 in efficiency range for a TDO5H 18G. 600-640 CFM
I can post up some logs if anyone wants to take a look.
