Definitely some quirks, but I love mine so far. Added some wheels, springs, and tint:

It looks like you painted Eagle F1 on the sidewalls with that light reflection.

Those are my favorite wheels for the car. I'm probably just sticking with stock though.

How are these holding up guys? I getting the itch to look at cars again. Went test driving leftover 2013 Mazdaspeed3's again, but after owning one for a year before my current car, that itch is scratched and I don't need to own another one of the current generation. Test drove the Focus ST a couple of times and had mixed feelings overall, but I was pretty impressed with the engine/power/power delivery, the trans felt solid and smooth, the clutch had nice feedback, had solid brakes, and the handling was darn nice (that thing just wants to turn/rotate). I definately liked the fact that it felt performance-oriented without beating the crap out of you in regards to the ride comfort. Also, there was not very much torque steer (nothing like what you get in the Mazdaspeed3).

I was not so much a fan of the Recaro seats (disliked them quite a bit and I'm not a big guy) and the general feeling of the dash layout/design. The interior felt kind of cramped to me and the fit and finish/build quality seemed kind of poor/off-putting. My main concerns with the car are the above mentioned build quality issues, reliability, and resale. I have just seen so much all over the internet and forums of various issues with the car (and I know 2013 was the first year of production, so some issues were sort of expected).

Looks good thanks for sharing.....I like the Focus ST its the perfect size package. I just wish it wasn't FWD (didn't like the torque steer during the test drive, I got the feeling that I would get sick of it really fast).

Haven't heard much from the 2014 owners, but there are some definite issues with SOME of the 2013 owners. It's pretty hit and miss, and from what I can tell, typical of a first year production.

Most common stuff are hood, taillight, etc. fitments. Can be adjusted, just annoying.

Some squeaks and rattles inside, but again, hit or miss. Mine, for instance, doesn't rattle too much in general. But my friend's ST rattles quite a bit, especially with the bass up.

The MFT/Synch setup is really freaking annoying at times, but once you get used to it, it works well enough.

I love the handling, steering, ride, power, materials, etc. personally. Though, I came from a Neon SRT-4, so...

I've had the car since February 2nd and I still really enjoy it. There's actually quite a lot of modding potential, which makes me happy. Much easier/safer vs. the MS3, as I understand.

I have about 15,000 miles on mine at this point, and still enjoy driving it every day. I was going to get a 2013 Mustang GT Premium, but that deal fell through, so I ended up with a Prius (that I gave to my mom), then this. I commute daily, so it meets my current needs. These things get around 220-230whp, and 270wtq stock. With a simple tune, they're pushing 240-250whp, and 310-320wtq. Add some bolt-ons and some more aggressive tuning, and you're around 270-280whp and 360wtq.

A mustang GT fell through and you ended up with a prius.

Okay, I have to hear this story.

Man...I'm so tired of telling it. I think it strips a part of my soul every time.

The condensed version goes something like this:

Order a Mustang GT Premium, track pack, Recaros...get a REALLY good deal on it.

I wait 5 months, going through waves of frustration as the date keeps getting pushed, and with no lack of communication.

Two weeks before the car is set to arrive, I get a call - they tell me they forgot to include the Recaros in the price, and that it's X amount more. Now the price isn't a good deal. It's mediocre at best, and I'm pissed.

On principle, I decide to cancel the deal and get my deposit back.

There's nothing else on the market I want. NOTHING. I commute every day to the city, so I went the opposite route and said "Screw it, I'll check out a Prius." It was comfortable, very roomy, had a lot of tech I wanted, and I got a good price...so I pulled the trigger.

Everything goes well at first - I'm hitting 50-55mpg, saving loads of money on gas every month. It's awesome at first, but then I start falling asleep at the wheel; Narcoleptic style. I've never done this before in a car, so I figure it's something to do with my health. I get worried, try to get more sleep, eat better, etc. Nope. Falling asleep at the wheel, and it's scaring me.

After a few more weeks of this routine, I decide that it's the car. And at that same time, I also decide my mom needs a new car. She's in her sixties still driving a 5-speed (2008 Scion xD). So I take her car, give her the Prius, sell her car, then take that money plus some of mine and buy the ST.

BOOM.

Some days, I still wish I had gone for the Mustang. But ultimately, I feel like I made the right choice. I helped my mom out, she's super happy. And I got a car that's a good compromise of power, handling, style, and economy. Not to mention utility - having the four doors and the hatch is very helpful.

Silly VW haters.

The ST "looks" to be a fun hot-hatch.
Apparently, looks are all it's getting.

I've only had mine a few months but I love every drive in it. Some people have had issues, most haven't.
