Default Turbo and overreving

I've come across an issue where when I'm pushing 80%+ throttle, regardless of gear, and it comes up to 3k rpm, the boost gauge is reading close to 7lbs and all of a sudden my revs are jumping up to 4-4.3k then settling back down. I'm not sure if it's a leak in the BOV or what, so I have been babying it through the gears because I would hate to overrev and something mechanical break in the engine. Any help on this?

Hmmm. No logs, but clutch could be an issue. It has 180k miles on it. I do have to double clutch for 5th gear so it doesn't grind, but last tranny check there was very minimal metal shavings in the case.

You wouldn't have metal shavings from ur clutch going unless ur driving the "if u can't find it grind it" method. Ur clutch is most likely toast. If u pull up ur e-brake put the car in first and slowly let off the clutch and the car dosnt stall out right away thats a really good indication ur clutch is done.

Is for sure the clutch. Now I need to find a reliable clutch. Any recommendations? I don't have all the money in the world, so take that into account. I do have a friend that's going to do it cheap who has a shop for import tuners.

Also, I have no mods on my 02 WRX, so looking more along the line of a stock clutch for the easy type of driving I'm doing.

What if when someone lets out and it doesn't have an issue with stalling in first but seems to have the same turbo issue of jumping from max boost to half?
