Default Totem Rally

Totem Rally is on for Nov 15/16/17 .. This is the same format and same organizers as Thunderbird Rally which runs in Feb ..Registration Fri nite in Cache Creek . Run Saturday .. over night somewhere in the Caribou area and back to Cache Creek say 3 pm on Sunday .. 16 hours of rally time and you can count on some snow and ice somewhere along the way ..This is every bit as much fun as Thunderbird , just on different roads .. We get as far north as Williams Lake .. Full regs should be available soon on Rally BC but the foremat never changes much .. If you have any questions let me know..

ah ****! i usually start this tread =o(
Jim, do You wanna delete it so i'd do it first?
just kidding =o)
is Your WRX all back together?

and just a reminder for some one who wants to do it for the first time but not sure how -
this is a TSD rally which is a navigational rally and speed given is not suppose to exceed posted speed limit
and you don't need any "special" or additional safety equipment to participate except for fire extinguisher and a first aid kit.
winter tires strongly recommended though!

so get yourself a navigator, fill 'er up and get your lazy ass to Cache Creek. we'll be there to help ya! =o)
i promise - you won't regret it!

If I can get someone to over my oncall shift that weekend and I have my Legacy completed, I will be signing up.

What's the penalty for speeding? Are these closed roads?

they make it so you don't go over the posted limits in the area. Doesn't mean you can't drive a little spirited when you fall back a bit. But if you fall back you aren't doing the rally properly

it's not as scary as they say roads are open public roads.
penalty is 1 point for every second early or late.
You just got to stay within that 1 second time frame
i've seen teams that make it "0" points at the end.
and that's just unbelievable how can they drive a few hundred kilometers
without going too fast or too slow passing by around 20+ check points

I'm 90% in.
Hopefully I'll get a proper odometer with a working light for this one.

It says 50/50 gravel/paved. Any tire suggestions from the veterans?

snow tires would be best.

Gravels are cool until you hit snow. Gravel tires suck in the snow... and since you're going from cache creek to williams lake in november, snow tires would be best suited. Bring a spare though!

Also, I have a terratrip 303 plus rally odo I haven't used... I could sell it if someone is interested...

...and snow tires suck in the mud, period!
so when you happen to go over a muddy spot be careful

supps are up
http://rallybc.com/archives/2013/Tot...Totem_regs.pdf
couple of years ago finish of day 1 was in Clearwater.
participants booked Wells Grey Inn, and it was full.
i was stupid enough not to book in advance and thought we're about to spend a night in my car because there was nothing else there.
and then saw some lights across the hwy. so i drove there and it turned out to be another motel!
Dutch Lake Motel. so we stayed there and liked it.
that place wasn't even advertised or listed anywhere then. now they have website. http://www.dutchlakemotel.com/
$69 single room, $74 double
anyway, get registered and start saving some money =o)
entry fee is $180. WCRA members have $15 discount for each team member
