Default Any issues to know of on the 09-12 XTs ?

Was planning on getting a wrx but just recently found a couple xt limiteds in my area for about 10k less. Im not looking to mod really for speed but definitely looks and fun to drive (wish it were available in stick) while still being a good daily driver including snow sometimes up to around 1-1.5ft deep. Are there any common problem areas to look at when looking at preowned ? What are the weak points of the vehicle ? Thanks in advance.

I always look for comprehensive maintenance record(s). And those records need to have a strong pedigree too. A car that has been getting its services from all over the place by a whole bunch of no-name garages always pops a red flag for me. Consistent regular services from a Subaru dealership or equally qualified shop with warrantied work shows the owner was responsible and took the time to go the extra mile for their car. Usually those vehicles make for safe used purchases, and everyone wins. Then of course accident history next, though a minor cosmetic repair from a bump in a parking lot or neighborhood street just means more bargaining power, and is not a real concern to me. Not nearly as much as a garbage service history.

Yeah I'm going to look at a certified preowned newport blue XT in about an hour or so...I'll be asking for a car fax to at least see some of its history. Already planning some cosmetic mods lol. Thanks for the response.

Well found a beautiful silver 2012 that I just pulled the trigger on. Hope it's good to me. Looks to already cosmetically modded to most of what I wanted done. But no engine modifications...was traded in on an evo.

Well that's good to hear. So far I like it alot. Love the giant moonroof. Just have to save some money to get the sat radio reciever so I can add it to my account. Still needs some things to make it "mine" but thats all part of the fun.
