So has anyone else had troubles trying to get the bolt off the fog lamp w/o cracking the plastic that it's bolted through? The little metal clip just turns with the bolt and sheers right through the plastic.

Try holding the clip in place with a pair of plyers or something so it doesn't twist when you loosen the bolt.

Done. Nice upgrade.

Thanks for posting!

Decent H11 Pigtails on eBay

For those that don't want to splice:

H11 to PSx24W Harness
So to clarify I can buy the outback fogs and those harnesses and I'm good to go? I don't really want to wire/splice myself. I'd rather just plug and play.

good deal! $100+shipping isn't bad at all for that big of an upgrade.

I'd have to say that it's a fairly decent upgrade for the money. Lord knows I've spent much more than that for far less useful mods.

Well worth the effort and $$$ invested.

Here's a more current link for PSX24W - H11 conversion harnesses on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=111181608105

Doing this soon as well, but I'll make my own harnesses. That convoluted tubing looks god awful.

Hello. OP here. Still going strong on the upgrade!!! I have considered HIDs, overlays, or yellow bulbs or just staying "stock". Any suggestions? Glad you guys like the upgrade. Took quite a bit of research to look for what I wanted.

I'm still happy with the mod, they do make a difference. I'm running Philips X-treme vision H11 bulbs in both the fogs, and headlamp low beams. Works great for my old tired eyes.

I bought some Piaa plasma ion yellow bulbs but I haven't upgrade my fogs yet. I still need to buy some wiring and connectors. I'll post some pictures here once I have it done.

I didnt realize how bright my foglights were until one of my headlights went out. I didnt realize my left head went out because my fog lights were on and it certainly picked up the slack.

How do you wire them independently?

I believe the pigtails from Amazon allow for the install of the much discussed Outback fogs without creating your own wiring to plug them into the stock harness.
Yeah I can make a better set, but not everyone here can.

I knocked off my bumper cover last month hitting a raccoon, and got an unplanned up close look at my 2013 without the cover installed... and it was very disappointing. Making this car cheap and light were the only priorities.

As we all have agreed the stock fogs are worthless.
I am going with the Outback fogs, but for those interested in further experimentation those sockets would allow other currently unavailable bulb options for the stock fogs.

i understand the point, but even butt connectors with built in heatshrink would work well IMHO.

i just don't like to pay extra for things that are useless.

now for headlights I made my own H11-H9 adapters because:
1. I didn't want to cut off that wiring while under warranty
2. there is really no access to the wiring w/o removing a lot of stuff

Bumping this for those interested.

Found this earlier;

Great price, I've never heard of them. The checkout process looks sketchy, though.

These?

Amazon.com: Tyc 19-5785-80 Driver Or Passenger Side Replacement Fog Light: AutomotiveAmazon.com: Tyc 19-5785-80 Driver Or Passenger Side Replacement Fog Light: Automotive

Is TYC like Depo? This seller's price is pretty good, but I don't like how it doesn't have a lot of info. It's also funny because the same seller has a set of two for 70...
