Went for a small group drive last weekend. It was the 'test drive' after doing a head gasket job on my ride, at 50k :/

Resurfaced heads, new oem gaskets, ARP studs, Mistsumoto waterpump/timing kit/accessory belts, oem spark plugs, oil pan gasket, new cam seal (one was leaking a bit) new cam stud (got stripped pulling it), flushed cooling system, 4.7q of T6. And found ONE cracked vacuum line, which seems to have fixed my boost issues as well. She's running like a top. The X and 2 STi's were workin hard to keep up >

Edit: now if I could just do something about this god awful brake fade....

My new Legacy B4 RSK that's currently on the vessel in the middle of the Pacific en route to BC. I've been waiting 3 months for it to arrive!

My current DD is a 1988 JDM Prelude 4WS, so this will be an upgrade for sure.

Well it's literally been YEARS since posting here, but a recent debate on my local forum about cheap low springs got be browsing again. Also found a PM saying I should def be posting more pics of the BG... hehehe. Legacy section sure is a bit more dead these days though

Car is no longer at home in Auckland, we moved south to Queenstown. And he got a buddy, a wee daily bash BC.

And the BC. Started life as a 1.8L, single point injection, auto, Legacy Ti Type-S

Then a quick polish and turbo bumper install later...

BBS's

Old Man Rock

And now this is happening... Woops. So much for daily bash car huh... (It's actually a non turb EJ20D, but we'll gloss that over).

Story is, I went to go install a K-brace, but they don't play nice with N/A headers. So I tracked down a 250T fake up-pipe and down-pipe, and crossmember (same as turbo), and installed that. While I was in there I popped in some alloy control arms. Went to Install the u-pipe and it didn't play nice with the dizzy... Well, i'm not the kind of guy to renege and un-install a weekends worth of work, so out came the dizzy... then intake manifold... then I decided against 1.8 SOHC all together so the block came out too... Then I figured there's no point stopping there, so the trans came out too, then the dash and wiring loom... Now i'm putting a turbo loom in, have already got the manual in, and the 20D is waiting on me to do the wiring (i figure it's easier with the motor out) before that goes back in. All that for a K-brace. Yup, sounds about right.
