Well, it's not terribly pretty, but I guess I personally don't think any soft top structures are. Plus, you can always take it off, right? I assume this soft top is mainly for getting caught in the rain emergencies.

I always preferred coupes myself, but I have to admit now...being able to drive around with no top and hear the boxer engine is a LOT more fun than I thought it would be.

As a side note, I'm waiting to see my first 818 in person around here...and I'm not the only one, apparently. On the freeway this morning, a confused looking guy in a van pulled up next to me and asked if my car was an 818...

I think Ford RS200 or Lancia 037 inspired bodywork for this car could have done nicely (at least in coupe form). Or cram the mechanical bits in a Stratos replica.

I still dont see the big deal about how it looks.

This car is about amazing performance for low cost. As long as it has a body and now a make shift roof what else do you want.

No one wants to pay $20k for something they don't think looks good.

People do this every day.

You get my point tho, It doesnt look bad by any means but this price vs performance cant really be touched for the money.

We want it to look good.

Seriously though, "sleepers" of the "I have a beater car that I made fast" don't appeal to everyone. The sleek looks of an exotic appeal to lots of people. Few people outside of the show car circuit want a car that is all show and no go (aka: the replicar/kit car Fierrari crowd).

I think it's one of the new FFR exclusive DuPont paints.
