Go on craigslist and type in WRX or STi. See how many dealers have non stock Subaru's....a lot. It's not irregular for someone to trade in a highly modified car due to the fact that it's easy to do. It's harder to privately sell a modified car and this guy probably wasn't on a tight budget or he would've parted it out. Simple as that.

Yeah it looks pretty crazy in person. One of those cars where you know it took a lot of money to build, but skimped on certain areas which makes it look really cheap and dare I say riced up. All the carbon panels are real, but rather faded. I'm not too familar with evos but I bet the future buyer could do a part of of some things and bring it back to a more stock appearance for relatively cheap.

The person who used to drive this apparently drives a GT-R in Japan now...I fear for the life of the car

I'm seriously looking into a GTR in about a year or so. My wife hates the look of all cars (she thinks the new Porsche GT3 is "ugly"). So imagine my surprise when I told her my dream car after I buy her a new Forester is a GTR. Her response was "Good luck, you can pry it from my cold dead hands."

I can't win.

Your wife gets to determine what car you drive after you buy her the car she wants? Yikes...

260 seems like a good "firm" price for a cracked bumper that only has some "dents" You can get a brand new one for 198.00

Grandparents passed away this summer, left us half a million trust fund. Pay off debts, build a house for 80k cash. Appraise it at 400-500k, home equity loan the entire thing...starting building/buying/selling homes. I "retire" in 6 months. My wife has said she'll let me buy one within a year.

"Your wife gets to determine what car you drive after you buy her the car she wants? Yikes..."

Happy wife, happy life.
