Default 2010 WRX stuck in second after PAR dogbox install.

So I bought a trans from a buddy of mine and swapped the internals to my trans case. I first didn't realize that the shift forks had to be swapped over too. It was installed and got locked in second (what the shop said, will explain later.). They tore it apart and swapped the rest of the parts over. I got it back today and drove it maybe 100 miles before it locked up. When it happened, I was shifting from second (which is helical for some reason) to third. Now comes the strange part. The only "gear" or gear position the shifter will go into is second and it will appear to come out of gear into neutral and not go into any other gear position, however the trans doesn't go into neutral.

So, what could it be? Shift fork? Collar damaged from my stock forks?

Torn apart again and nothing changed but seals, locked in third now. Could it be shift linkage or anything? Everyone that's looked inside has said that it looks perfect. I don't know how or why it keeps doing this, but I'm fairly certain that the tranny itself is fine.

Yeah, I had the shop look at them and they were there and fine.
