Listen man I'll go ahead and be 100% helpful. At stock levels an intake is going to net you nothing other than noise. The stock box isn't a restriction until 400whp. If you want the noise there is a resonator that's attached to the bottom of the air box its just a jug attached to it take that off and immediate intake noises. IMO the intake noises are sweet so I went with this route. If you want to really make use of your dollars get a downpipe and better tmic and a pro tune. It will equal happiness

Taking off the intake resonator is just noise. No affect otherwise. If you want some kick in the butt dyno just do a stock reflash and that may be enough for you. If not then add a down pipe and update the tune to match

I would like to stick with 1 brand from turbo back but not break the bank. I need to stay catted for emissions. Would a cnt catted dp be ok quality?

Pointless thread turned into info for my newbish ass.

Its called "search" as u will see what is descent but doesnt really matter cuz all u r going to do is cheap out and ghetto rig for the 7th time/

Ive bin on here for 3yrs and never had to post a thing cuz ive found all my info on here and elsewhere so u should do the same before u do another ghetto hack job/

As for scotty sometimes I think he doesn't even like himself but like others they're sick of people posting with out searching first/

Lol no worries ive done my fair share of searching on here.
And ive been through multiple expensive exhaust parts.
Invidia n1 race catback to a cobb to a blitz nur spec to a ****ty srs, to a custom straight xleback on srs midpipe so i can switch out axlebacks if i get pulled over but ive never gone full turbo back due to not trusting a cheap cat. Thats why i was asking since everyone is so happily giving downpipe info. I decided to hijack a pointless thread anyways.

And lol @ the scotty comment. Hes a character. Might be a little hairy and live under a bridge but still a character.

How anybody powers through this obvious detonation without chills down their spine is beyond me. It's even clearly shown on Cobb's dyno database for stock cars. I had heard the rumors, I had seen the CL/OL delay in all 07+ models, but if I had known how bad it really was I never would have driven my '12 off of the lot without a tune.

Short warranty, high percentage of aftermarket modifications, and unreasonably high oil consumption limits before repair prevent most of the claims within the warranty period. That doesn't mean that damage isn't being done.
You're also using below the recommended octane level, so they'll zing you for that one too. The 06+ WRX's absolutely need a tune in stock form, and apparently anyone is a communist state that only has 91 needs a tune even on an STi.

There are states that just do not have 93 at the pump. CA and AZ the highest they get is 91 octane so its not at fault of the driver.

So does CO, which is why my STi runs it. The WRX is on gas though because it makes for a better daily, especially in the winter.
