Outback Sport New Subaru Owner

About 3 months ago i purchased a 2002 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport
2.5L, Auto with 60,000 miles on the clock.
My car is now in pieces at a garage that's in the process of replacing the head gasket, timing belt, water pump and idler.
There also doing a flush and fill on the transmission as well as a new filter.
Thankfully i bought the car with a warranty and they're taking care of the HG issue (external leak). Everything else is outta pocket, but i gotta do it.
I just joined here and im sure ill have lotsa questions...

Well, welcome to the forum. Sorry your car took a crap on you but they'll fix it and it should run for quite a while afterwards, hopefully.

Its my fault. I didn't notice the HG leak when I bought the car. I'm glad I got a warranty to cover that.
The timing belt and water pump was recommended by a local Subaru dealer.
The transmission flush and fill is just routune maintenance that I'm guessing wasn't done since new.
The car was owned by an old lady, which is why the mileage is so low. And I read that short trips driving at old lady speeds are not good for any car.
I'd rather have it be 100% and be good as new.
I put 4 new tires on and changed the oil and fuel filter so far.
Once I get it back I'm tuning it up and it should be good to go.

Welcome, All that maintenance at one time is a hit to the wallet, but will be worth it when the car lasts 200k +
