Default SEMA 2013 Interview Video: Borg Warner 7163F Turbo + Full Race Kit

Circuit Motorsports talked to Geoff from Full Race today out at SEMA. He gave us some really good info on the new Borg Warner 7163F turbo and the Full Race "stock-location" kit for the 2.5 Subaru WRX & STi's. These kits should be Frakkin' sweet!

the stock location kit is available now, with 6258 and 6758. the 7163 which everyone is most excited about is just beginning to ship this week, customers can put them on reservation (no cost) and we contact you as they become available. my responsibiites at FR are primarily new product development and engineering -- dont handle any of the orders or customer side of things. happy to answer any technical questions you have

and the header. though using the 2 bolt design, you can mate this to whatever header you'd like.

kit seems to be up-pipe, downpipe and other accessories only. + turbo, +header

Geoff,
In the video, you mentioned that the IWG on those turbos is large enough that "upgrading" to an EWG setup would yeild no benefits. Exactly how big is the IWG flapper on the Bog Warners? Better yet, is it the size of the IWG that makes it comparable to that of an EWG or is it the design itself?

Let me get this straight. You're planning on charging $1500 for an up-pipe, downpipe oil/coolant feed and return lines, gaskets, a v-band clamp and some fittings? I know it's a magic EFR turbo, but it's still stockish location. Different flanges and slightly different placement, that's all. It'd be more worth it to go rotated at that price point.

See my edit. I forgot that it includes the downpipe too.

Double edit, I see that you didn't think otherwise lol. Sorry about that.

Geoff! You might not remember me but I used to be partners with Josh Wojtyna at Tri-Tech next to Locash, I worked on your a/c on your Civic a couple times at the Dodge dealership. :-)
Been awhile, I am in the Chicago area now. I might need a twin scroll kit soon. :-)

both aspects work together -- the IWG itself is large at 36mm on the B1 EFR and 42mm on the larger B2 EFR. however the design of the wg orients the exhaust gases on an aerodynamic flow path to merge with the turbine outlet. This is CFD optimized, hence the long axial length and a very big part of the reason why these IWG's work so well, with no boost creep

hey hey good to hear from you again, been a long time. that beater civic i ended up loaning out to a former FR employee and it got totaled, fortunately it was perfect timing with my evo to be reliable! no problem if you need a kit, we have some prototype units laying around i can hook you up with also if you didnt need it perfectly brand new

Geoff, is the 7163 going to be the only one with MFT? Are the 6258 and 6758 going to have MFT?
