I know someone who got a reckless for playing in a school parking lot. Pretty rare though.

Just a friendly PSA of all of us - it's against AK law to have snow sitting on flat surfaces of your car while driving, because of the chance it may fly off and blind other drivers.

It may be against the law but it is rarely if ever enforced. I wish it was as I have seen countless times when semi-trailers, snow machine trailers and RVs are grossly overweight from buildup.

Depending on how wet the snow is, it can weigh 25-35 lbs per sq. ft. Now imagine a 20'x8' snow machine trailer with a foot of snow on it. That, on the low side equates to an extra, likely not factored in, 4000 lbs of weight.

^^ Truth!

I once drove our old 26ft toy hauler back from Big Lake when we (my family) were motorcycle ice racing one weekend. It seriously dumped while we were out there. They had to plow between sessions to keep the track clear of snow buildup. We had an easy 3-4 feet on top.

We even stopped to shovel off the build up on the way home. Winds were howling at the time….I've never been so unnerved driving ANYTHING! It was gnarly.

Heed what bit of common sense you're blessed with.

Got yelled at today but some old fart while at the South Highschool roundabout. He approached my car and called me, if I recall correctly, a stupid (rhymes with duck) and told me to get the (this time it rhymed with truck) out of there. I hadn't done anything yet and was just sitting there. Mind you, my friend John did do a nice lap around, but that guy was straight up rude to me for no reason.

Still can't believe how much more capable I drive with my RWD coupe compared to most people. Minus loss of traction at acceleration from a dead stop, this little car goes!

lol I really didn't want to deal with his foul language so I told him he was making preemptive accusations and I just left.

Finally got around to getting my studs on.

Next year it'll be time to powdercoat the wheels for good.

Bwhahaha.

I feel most comfortable driving the STi in the worst conditions. However I would rather not spend 15 mins in the morning brushing snow and waiting for her to warm up.
