Default Need Junkyard Suggestion

Hey - I'm looking for a motor replacement for my NA miata - I hear tell of there being a good junkyard on the eastern shore of MD that maintains an inventory and will actually pull the parts for you (save me the trouble of pulling an engine in a junkyard).

Does anyone know which one it is?

Most good yards pull the parts for you. The best yards already have them pulled and stored for quick sales. Go on car-part.com and look up the part you need. It will list the mileage and if it's been tested. You should get any where from 90 to 100 day warranty with unlimited mileage on a used motor. Some yards even offer installation.

Only "You" pull-it yard in MD I know off and the Crazy Rays two locations one north and one south of Baltimore. The rest pull it for you. There's Bradneywine chain along Rt301 around Waldorf / Upper Marlboro the biggest and most expensive. But like MD04WRX said check car-parts.com for the best deals. Some yards prefer the collision / B2B industry and those prices (insurance) so they can be difficult to deal with. The best yards I've dealt with are usually in Middle PA or southern VA.

if its already pulled ask if they still have the car it came out of to check what kind of damage was done to the car. if a car was in a front end collision that was bad enough i would be weary of that engine. also its a great time to replace seals etc etc before you install it and avoid problems later. if they dont have the car it came out of i think you can still carfax the vin and find out what happened. i dont take any chances with junk yard engines.

Another suggestion for car-part.com, had very good luck with a variety of different cars on there.

You may be hearing about Brandywine in Southern MD. But as far as pick and pulls go I would suggest Crazy Rays. They have locations in Mt Airy, which had a NA Miata or two when I was there Saturday. Also in Jessup, Hawkins Point, Baltimore, and one north of Baltimore.

For a Miata?

Call a Spec Miata shop.

Locally there's... MeatHead Racing, for one. There's only about a thousand more out there, but used Miata parts a a quarter a dozen (old dudes that like to over price their parts...).
