Default New STi owner in AZ

Just bought my 2010 STi about 2 weeks ago! Dark grey hatchback with 20k miles on it. Wanted the sedan but since I traded the SUV in, the STi has to double as the "family" car for road trips, haha. I've always wanted one so I'm not complaining! Not going too crazy with modding it but my want list is still pretty damn long. For some reason, I only have a shot of the rear on my phone;

Already installed a Cobb AP3, AEM Intake, & Rally Armor Mudflaps. Previous owner tinted the taillights red and installed the R205 fender ornaments and sport mesh grille. Noticed they also rolled the fenders so I'm sure it was modded before I got it. Got the MAW TGV delete housings on the way and a Greddy Style Front Lip. Trying hella hard not to buy more stuff but I'm sure I'll be breaking down in the next few days for a MadDad downpipe and some other bits.

Also own a fully built 2004 Mazdaspeed Miata that is just wrapping up the slowest motor build ever. I don't think there's a part left on this car that is stock with close to $20k invested in it. Should be somewhere around 300whp on meth and ~270whp without. Dyno'd 217whp before I went crazy with my set-up.

And a 2008 Ducati 1098 that's for sale if anybody is interested!

Anybody located in West Phoenix? Saw that you all have some meets at Westgate! I'm just west of Surprise and own a martial arts studio in Surprise. I'm usually done around 9pm on weekdays so I'm sure I could get out there one of these days.

-Chris

That's my old car. If you want all the receipts for it, I still have them in a binder. It has all the oil change receipts, maintenance parts, fuel mileage records, etc. Congratulations on the new car

Will do!

Those parts you took off a '10 STi in September, were they from this car?

I do need the front driver side fender liner and associated hardware as well as a bottle of touch up paint.

Thanks!

You never know! I like the style but I'd rather have the darker version I've seen. Was thinking about powder coating them in the near future.

Congrats on the STi.

Westside meet is every Wednesday at Westgate (check out the thread for map/location). People show up from 8-10PM and we usually walk over to Yard House for reverse happy hour food/drinks at 10.

Yup they were. What's left is the front sway bar, both endlinks, the FMIC kit, Intake, and Front Lip.

I'll shoot you a PM here shortly with pricing on both.

Thanks

Damn, you should have stopped me from trading it. I traded it in on a Golf R and got screwed out of all my parts (NOT by Camelback... Markos ). I'd been looking at one for a over a year. It was a terrible mistake . Hands down the most boring car I've ever driven. I got rid of it after a couple weeks for the '07 Limited wagon. I've been spending too much time with my AE86es to do much with the wagon, but it gets some rear wide fender body work next month. I have Brembos I'm refinishing for it and some wheels on order. After that, we'll meet up for some pictures.

Sorry man . The GD will be much better than the GR ever was (at least that's what I keep telling myself).

Markos, I need that FMIC back, hahaha.

Any suggestions for tuning in Phoenix? Dyno Comp told me $290. Any recommendations are appreciated!

By this weekend I'll have everything installed that I've ordered the past two months: turbo-back exhaust, PnP header, TGV deletes, Boomba throttle body, Perring turbo inlet, Crawford AOS, PnP header, EWG uppipe, Perrin turbo blanket, turbo heat shield, fuel pump, 3 port EBCS, on top of what I've already done. Picking up my Greddy front lip and S206 sideskirts from the paint shop this week too. Got some of the stuff done, waiting to get my IM back before we can finish.

I'm going with Dyno Comp. Awesome guys. Know their stuff and do a great job. I am yet to hear a bad thing about them.

You've got a few good options in Phoenix, those being SRP, GoodSpeed/Clark Turner, DynoComp, and UMS Tuning.

My .02 is to go around, meet with the tuners, discuss what you're looking to do with the car, see what they have to offer, and then make your decision.

I completely agree with Markos.
Being comfortable with your tuner is paramount, He should tell you what he recommends, but also be able to work with your chosen mods. Talk to all of them, and go with whom you're the most comfortable.

I'm SRP, btw

Good purchase it's a beauty for sure! Hopefully I'll see you around town! I live in Surprise and Markos is a good guy over in camelback. It's a drive but well worth it! I am yet to make it to a meet since I don't really know anyone at these meets plus I finally don't work late evenings!

Wow, I'm super late to your response, my bad! I've seen quite a few other Suby's around Surprise, especially today. I'm going to try and get out to one of the Westgate meets this month.

On another note, got my car tuned at GoodSpeed by Clark and Joe. Car feels amazing now but of course, I still want more! Waiting for them to come up with a flex fuel solution so I can utilize E85. Here's a shot of the dyno graph, basically 315whp and 315 lb/ft.
