It is completely doable. However your price points are way too low. Even if you acquire a car for 5K. By the time to import it and get it legal to sell in the USA. Its easily going to be way over 10K. Thats without you making a $. Remember the more you pay customs and port authorities the quicker you get your car. The less you pay the more years you wait. Thats not even including any repair costs, restoration costs, conversion costs.. Plus wait time for parts could be weeks or months, which might not be a big problem if you have weeks or months to sit on your money and wait.

My grandpa had one of those Fiat 850s, in red. That is some 30 years ago...
I learned how to shift gears in that car, albeit when parked...

^Fiat licensed their products to Seat (their Spanish subsidiary) in the 50-70s.

For nostalgic reasons I will try to procure a Seat 850s before the Fiat counterpart.

I think the same guy owned a Renault Alpina (yes a gasoline station attendant), back then stations were full serve. He would let me pump customer's gas some times.

Memories.

I will import just one vehicle first , even if it's a wash it would be a good learning experience, yes it will be hard making a profit at $10K selling price, but the target market is guys like us, not concourse the elegance aristocrats with big pockets, offering the cars at reasonable price is the key. Thanks for your comments.

I'm trying to decide the car with most potential, perhaps a Peugeot 205 GTI although I would really like a Seat 600 (pretty much same as the Fiat 500), my parent's first car.

Check this out! http://themeforest.net/category/site-templates

I have purchased a few themes from them.

Because of the nature of what your are trying to do your site needs to scream romance, elegance, and Simplicity.

If you do end up using a template from this site make sure you purchase the correct license for it.

**Edit** I also have a pretty clean logo idea. Ill have to wait till I get home to sketch it up.

Uhmm I am getting what you are saying, something like this, retro/nostalgic. Excited about the logo idea, I have no artsy background.

I like that one but I think it maybe a little bright(you can always change the colors)

I think this one would be nice. its a live preview so you can try it on. http://themeforest.net/item/newave-r...review/5925116

I like the landing page of it.

**Edit** the backgound could be a nice picture of a vintage euro car or a few of them with the logo and the button says "welcome" or "enter"

Well I will certainly not bring any Fiat 500s from Argentina, what an atrocity. Was hoping to save on transport vs Europe, scratch that.

Dear OP...

Never quit. Never surrender. DO it and enjoy your life. I just hope you make it worth your time and effort as going through all the paperwork and laws for $10k per car may not be enough to satisfy keeping some money in your pocket.

That said, here's a pic I took when I was at Rally Catalunya in '09 of a car just parked on the side of the road...

I do prefer this car in white.

----------------

Gee, I dunno, that car is nice and all, but my eye went to the FC Turbo in the background... I'd have a hard time throwing that out of my driveway too.

FYI: the Renault R5 Turbo (or II) should probably be one of the easiest to do, as they were sold here stateside before Renault pulled out.

Uhmm I did not come up with this concept soon enough, these guys already offering classic racing Fiats in Cali.

On other news I have priced the transport, duties, brokers, port fees, import tax, etc, etc, etc and as some posters are suggesting $10,000 is not doable but I will keep close to that price, no more than $15K. I want to offer classic Euro cars affordable for the masses and the mid income enthusiast.
