I have a Maddad Whisper. It is a little louder than stock, but still pretty quiet at full chat. Very stealthy, and it makes GOOD power. None of the dreaded station wagon drone, it is exactly what I wanted.

Grimmspeed catless up pipe, Stromung 3" downpipe, Invidia G200 catback on an 04 WRX. Just right if you ask me. It's only really "loud" under heavy throttle at high RPM's. No dB readings to offer, but whenever my mother rides in the car she always comments on how much she likes the way it sounds. So it passes the "mom approved" test. Either I have a really lame exhaust, or a rockin' mom.

Still, to keep from attracting unnecessary law enforcement attention if I'm going on a long trip out of state, I'll pop in the dB killer in that came with the exhaust, and it's barely louder than stock.

Relative yes.... Lets not forget that once the hair cells inside the cochlea die thats it. You will not hear that frequency again, so "hurt" as in perceived as loud or painful varies greatly depending on previous damage.

My cousin who lives just over a mile hears me start up the RS when he's outside. One day he tells me he heard me start it up, leave the driveway, and shifting through the gears all the way until I got to his place. Driving wise he's a little over a mile. Birds eye he's about 3/4 mi of dence trees and fields away.

I have a catless up-pipe and catless turboback exhaust 3" all the way back through a blitz nur spec R.
