Default Jor_El's Build thread

Hello NASIOC community. Just wanted to say hi and start a build thread. I'm a huge car enthusiast. I've built a few cars now, here are some of my other projects:

My 350z which I no longer have:

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3149354/2003-nissan-350z/

My E46 M3, this is still my baby.

http://m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=356186

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/390902...mw-m3-coupe-2d

My 2006 ZX6R:

I have always loved Subies and I recently purchased a 2004 WRX Wagon that I wanted to use as my DD. Has 130,00 miles.

It came modded, this is what I know it has:

VF39 swap
Turbo XS top mount
Grimm Speed manual boost Controller
AEM intake
Forge bypass valve
STi springs
AEM AFR
Boost gauge
Full exhaust

Taking it to a local place here in Tucson estuned for a break down to ensure everything is in good working order, but so far it runs great.

Here is how she currently sits:

I'm not a fan of the gold wheels, so I'll be switching them out. I am not sure how deep I will get into this build, but I did some searching and this came across as to more what I'll be leaning towards aesthetically:

I know I'll learn so much here. Any advice and suggestions are welcomed.

Hmm.. Check to see if the up pipe (under the turbo)'is stock. If not you should pick one up, it's Cheap mod that gives the car power and better drivability spoolwise that can be done without a retune. Sweet wagon, it's in good hands I can see.

Also, for the record: I am very upset that someone took the username kal_el since I use it on all the forums. It displeases me a great deal

I'm sure you'll make this a proper build. Just so you know that wagon on grids has the sedan fenders. Something every wagon owner should do.
Good luck!

So here I am now. I so far have decided to wait on really dropping her. The STi pink springs are good for now and the ride is really nice.

I ended up purchasing the following:

Performance:

So after inspection my car ended up having the following mods when I purchased her:

VF39 Turbo
STi injectors
Walbro fuel pump
TurboXS TMIC w/ Forge bypass
AEM cold air intake
Grimm Speed manual boost Controller

I opted for a used TurboXS FMIC and a AEM short intake. I had it retuned at estuned in Tucson, AZ. Here are the dyno results on a Mustang Dyno. It made 302 AWHP and 292 TQ. It's great for DD purposes.

I also purchased the 06-07 4POT/2POT brakes with new rotors, pads, and SS lines. I think I like this mod the best because the stock brakes were horrible.

Aesthetics:

-OEM BBS STi wheels from the newer STi's. I really liked the styling of these wheels. Yes I did have to use 5x114.3 adapters. Is it ideal? not really, but spacer/adapters do not bother me. I have used them in the past and have never had a negative experience. Just for the record, this car will not see the track.

- Muteki blue lugs

- Vlimited front lip from eBay. Anyone else have issues with this thing fitting right?

- Hella horns

- Rally Armor mud flaps

- I baked and cleared the headlights

- I have but have not installed STi seats and door cards...

Here are some pics from install and what not:

Some of the finished product so far:

Here is how the cars sit in the garage:

and for you fellow bike lovers (weather is a benefit of living in AZ ):

looks awesome! Wagons are sick! Some coilovers and that thing will be perfect!

My ebay lip fits ok. The front is a little flimsy and like folds down at speed.. but hey what can you ask for for $57 shipped hah. Granted I have an 02 with an 06 front end..

I agree on the coils. Army is relocating me soon, so I'll wait and see where before I do it. I think mine is mostly from the fact that I need a sedan bumper on the front lip.

Got the Dad Wagon shined up a little bit. She is a trooper. Made it out toe Los Angeles and back without a hitch.

Happy Holidays from my garage to yours!

I like them. A little lower and it would look perfect.

gotcha, yes it would look better if it were a bit more flush. Maybe sooner than later. I followed the thread that the other folks did with this fender flare mod, screws/ bolts through the fender.
