Default DFW Autocross 2014!!!

Ok I figured might as well start a new thread for next year's autocross.

The 2013 season was a lot of fun! We had some pretty nice turnouts and met some new people. Let's make 2014 even better!

With that said, the first event of the year is the NTAXS winter autocross on Jan. 25th at Dallas Raceway. The last one was pretty fun and good for our cars because it was a wet event.

Just a quick question about what class I would be in for 2014. I have a 2013 wrx hatch and I am running a cobb tuner and a cobb sf intake. I was reading the classing rules and I am honestly lost. Any help figuring this out would be helpful!

If you can flash the car back to stock I would sign up for DS (D Street). The intake is tecnically illegal in DS but I doubt anyone will care. If you want to keep the tune then sign up for STU. Even in STU additional boost from the tune is not legal bu again I don't think anyone will care.

Yeah just sign up for stu for SCCA and Equipe Rapide autocross events.

If you do an NTAXS autocross then you will be in class 2. Their classing is based on engine size.

Go big out go home. Sounds like we should have a great Subaru showing this season.

I got a new open face helmet for Christmas so I can try the ultimate driving challenge, chewing bubble gum and driving at the same time!

I wish there was a local store I could go to to try on some different helmets before I buy. I know I can try on motorcycle helmets anywhere.

If anyone in the DFW area is looking for a co-driver to share costs (tires, brakes etc) for the 2014 autocross season shoot me an email (jkan2001 at gmail dot com) I've been autocrossing with the NTAXS, BMWCCA, PCA, SCCA, ER clubs for the last 10 years or so and am an instructor with a few clubs.

Looking to co-drive in a STU, SP, or SM car for local DFW events this season.

Thanks!

Does the car have to be competitive? Do I get to drive your GTR?

Prefer a car that's decently setup, doesn't have to be to the letter of the class but prefer not to drive a stock car. And you wouldn't want to drive the GT-R, it's terrible for autocross hence looking for a co-drive.
