Default Control arm compatibility

Was under the Baja yesterday and noticed the front control arm bushings could use replacing and the arms themselves have some surface rust.

Was wondering about swapping them with aluminum control arms from an STI (just wasn't sure of fitment). Any help is appreciated

Looks like it would take a lot of customization, so I will probably just replace all the LCA bushings with Whiteline or AVO and call it a day.

I replaced the bushings with OEM ones and they are expensive, like 120 a set.

For both the inner and rear it would be about $180 total from Whiteline + whatever the ball joints cost
The OEM ones I found are really cheap

Here are a couple of photos of JDM aluminum Legacy BE/BH front control arms I bought last May via eBay, had them powdercoated, then installed with Whiteline bushings.

GC aluminum control arms fit directly. That's what I have on my Baja.

How is that possible? The rear busing is vertival on the baja and horizontal on the gc control arms

Really?

On my 05 turbo they are horizontal just like the GC, GD imprezas

EDIT: Just so you know I am not completely crazy, I just went out in the freezing cold and took some pics.

The one you posted looks like a 2004 and up Legacy control arm (BL,BP). That's a generation newer than the Baja. Bajas are off of the previous BE,BH chassis.

^ Correct. Like I already posted, the alum. CA's on my Baja came from a GC Imprezza. One way I was able to confirm was that they share the same part numbers for the CA's. The GC arms also fit the SF Foresters (pre -02my).

That is correct, GC CA's will also fit 2000-04 Legacy, 02-07 Impreza wagons and 98-02 Foresters. Correct me if I'm wrong : Baja is effectively an 00-04 Legacy wagon.

OP- I have a set of GC STI aluminum control arms ready to go for $250
